Andy followed the coordinates while Johnson reviewed the usage instructions for the vampire kit. The ever-serious agent wasn’t familiar with popular culture, so he didn’t even know about stabbing vampires in the heart with a stake until now. Andy couldn’t help but shake his head in disappointment at that fact. All of the sudden, the little green blip on the electronic map went out. The vamp must have found the tracking device. “Target lost,” Andy informed Johnson. Johnson raised and eyebrow at Andy as if it were obvious as to what he should do. “Continue driving to the last known location of the target. Quickly. The target is probably fleeing the vicinity.” With that, Johnson returned to his reading. Andy stepped on it. He flicked the small red light and the siren on, a dangerous move in the slums with no backup. But Andy didn’t have time to worry about government-hating gangs. He was focused on avoiding traffic. Andy heard Johnson load and cock his Berreta in the back seat. The handgun would be able to take out most mortal henchmen. Andy brushed one hand over his grenade launder in the seat next to him and quickly returned the hand to the wheel. The grenade launcher would be able to take out any mortal henchmen. The car neared the abandoned theater. The old showhouse still had 30-year-old porno film advertisements on its signs. Andy cut the siren and light. “I wonder why the vampire wanted to base here,” Andy said sarcastically, certain that the film reels still contained vulgar picture shows. Andy knew Johnson wouldn’t understand the sarcasm. “It’s an inconspicuous location,” Johnson answered back while hurriedly unbuckling and packing up, “There are dozens of abandoned cinemas around Old Milwaukee. This one is just as –” Andy cut him off by practically yelling into his earpiece that they had reached the location. Frink angrily responded with, “Keep yelling and you’ll wake the living dead!” Andy grinned and got out of the car, his grenade-launcher in hand. Johnson soon followed. The agents walked to the boarded-up front oft he building. Andy lifted his weapon to cover Johnson as the ever-serious agent carefully removed a few planks. Soon there was a gap wide enough for them both. They crawled through and happened upon a single patrolling henchman in the lobby. The gang member began to draw his weapon and Johnson ordered him to cease. When that failed, Johnson pulled out his Berreta and a firefight began. Adventure Archive Home |
