Adventure 011, Part IV
Johnson and Andy pursued the vampire onto the street and began ordering him to stop. When he didn’t, Johnson pulled out his recently-holstered handgun and fired a well-aimed shot at the vampire.

Andy had to admire how Johnson could run in a suit and trenchcoat and simultaneously draw, aim, and fire his gun. Andy could barely run in his turtleneck fatigues and armor because of the heavy grenade launcher.

The vampire turned a corner about fifty yards ahead. Andy heard a car screech to a halt and honk around that area. The vamp must have been hit.

Johnson and Andy ran ahead with renewed hope and energy. The two thugs the vamp had with him had stopped running and stared in disbelief up ahead. When the agents reached them, they saw why.

The vampire had just run into a tomb and was closing the door. Johnson fired his Berreta again at the vamp. The undead drug lord retreated into the tomb before he finished sealing it.

The agents took their opportunity and jumped over the fence. They ran into the mausoleum, pushing the ajar door open. They scoped the area with their aura-seeing shades for the vampire. They turned around and saw the man push the door fully closed behind them. The vampire laughed sadistically.

“You’re in my world now,” he said as he descended upon Johnson with fangs and claws.

Agent Andy did the only thing he could think to do. He lifted his launcher and aimed at the vampire. The agent pulled the trigger.

The vampire deftly dodged the projectile and let out a laugh.

Then the grenade impacted the stone wall and exploded. It blew a wide hole in the tomb.

Sunlight poured in and quickly disintegrated the undead monster. Andy breathed a sigh of relief.

Back at the Team’s headquarters, Andy pondered aloud to Johnson and Frink. “I still don’t understand why there was a graveyard in the middle of the North Side ghetto.”

Frink looked to Johnson. The ever-serious agent replied, “It happened in ‘Thriller.’” Frink winked at Johnson, knowing Johnson never saw the music video. Frink merely told him to say that. It did have the desired effect on the shocked Andy.
