Fugazi: Epilogue

He looked at the fern, with a bright pink flower.

"Hey. I bet he and Bushroot would get on real well." A guard not particularly known for his brights either chuckled. The watch supervisor rolled her eyes at him.

"Quiet Chuck. This guy is easy. He's just a normal guy, not any of these supervillains. You should hope your job is too easy." The St. Canard Sanitarium was a pretty active place, even for the most adventurous types, she flashed her light back into the hall.

She looked at the man. A rather handsome young dog. His cheek had a scar but otherwise he was quite with luminous black eyes that focused laser like on the object of his attention. A fern with a flower on it.

"That is a really beautiful orchid." the Watch guard said, she always told him something, she was always a softie.
Out of no where a large strange gurgling voice rose out of the cell.
"I think he's trying to say something." the guard said. "Why doesn't he come out and say it? This could be important like a confession or..."

The watch supervisor ran "When he first came in here he tried to slit his own throat. We stopped him from killing himself but it destroyed his voice box."
The other guard winced.

"They say dead men tell no tales. But this one sure can't. He needs paper."

"I got some in the drawer. I'll go get it."

"Get it!" she yelled after him.

He had never made any attempt to communicate with the outside world before tonight. Prisoner 405, was a bit of an enigma in the Sanitarium. One of the few criminals not captured by Darkwing Duck, silent, deviously normal, yet he had done something to get him stuff in here with the dregs of Canardian society, it's supervillains, it's petty thugs on there way to jail, it's scum. Which this man was obviously not.

Chuck returned with a paper and a pen.
"Here, what is it, what do you want to say." she asked hopefully.
The dog took her pen and began to write.
"Come on. Come on."
There was a huge noise.
"What was that?"
Officer Chuck and Heather Beagle heard a tell tale insane laugh.
"Oh In the name of Walt. It's him." Chuck moaned.
"How did he break out again? I triple locked that darn straight jacket..."
"It's Playtime." Quacker Jack's voice sounded down the hall.
"These supervillains are getting smarter." Heather growled under her breath.
"Call the police. Call Darkwing Duck." Chuck ran down the hall shouting, pulling the alarms.

Heather stood up. She took one last look into the cell. Prisoner 405 was looking into the moonlight.
"It's not an orchid. It's a fern. A fern that is out of place. A fern that belongs here."

There was moreon the page, but she didn't have time for it. Not if Quacker Jack was running free in the Sanitarium.

She would have a long night ahead of her.
