Lyndon Manor, Port Charles, New York:
Lucky wandered through the large, rambling house that Ms. Carpenter had secured. She was unable to find a house larger than two bedrooms or smaller than six bedrooms. In the end, she had leased a modern six bedroom palatial estate set deep in the woods amongst tall pine trees.
The rooms were spacious each of which had a beautiful view of the tranquil surroundings. Lucky especially liked the living room in which he was now standing. It's beautiful bay window provided a wonderful view of a gentle slope with its cluster of tall pines.
Lucky wondered why the house was named Lyndon Manor and made a mental note to find out in the future. He was satisfied with the place and found the lake outside especially appealing for future swims with Leo.
Currently Leo was playing with Mrs. Worthington, while Mr. Worthington was making plans to hire a gardener to tend the enormous grounds of the house.
Ms. Carpenter was settled at the Port Charles Hotel after making arrangements to return to Lyndon Manor the following morning to begin setting up the new office.
All together, the Scott household was settling into their new surroundings nicely leaving Lucky to concentrate on the more pressing matter at hand, Elizabeth.
''O my god,'' whispered Lucky as his knees buckled beneath him and he fell in a heap to the floor. Finally, after more than twenty-four hours of living his new reality, the impact of it all and what it really meant overwhelmed him.
Tears of joy slid silently down his cheeks as he realized with awe the enormity of the chance he's been given. Not only does he have a second chance to love and have a future with Elizabeth. He also had a life seemingly tailor-made for him.
That gift and the responsibilities that came with it rendered him speechless. Turning his face upwards he prayed in earnest, giving thanks to god for his gift and asking him to guide his steps as he embraced his new life.
Above:
''That's what I like about that nephew of mine, his humility,'' said Ruby beaming proudly. ''Yea, he sure feels things deeply doesn't he? I like that he doesn't take things for granted, that will serve him well in life,'' remarked Mary Mae, also proud of Lucky.
Lyndon Manor:
Lucky took a deep breath as he drove down the long winding driveway of Lyndon Manor. After making certain that Leo was happy and secure with his new surroundings, Lucky decided it was time to re-enter Port Charles community.
After debating with himself about whom he should see first, Elizabeth or his parents, Lucky decided that it was best to face his parents first before tackling Elizabeth and the drama that was sure to follow.
After going over the situation in his mind, he decided that his best approach would be to introduce himself as Luke's nephew, withholding the truth about being Lucky for now.
Fifteen minutes later, Lucky pulled up in front of his parent's rustic house. After making sure that both cars were in the drive, Lucky got out and walked slowly up to the front of the house. Once on the porch Lucky went over and sat on the swing.
He sat frozen, not from the February climate, but from the fear that now seemed to encase his entire body. ''What does one say in a situation like this?'' Wondered Lucky. ''How am I going to pull this off without betraying who I really am? Mom is so intuitive she's going to know it's me, I just know it.
Maybe I can hold her off for a little bit, I mean she thinks I am dead and there is no way she'll be able to put this together. I will just tell them that I am Lawrence Scott and their nephew and just shut up about everything else for now.
Perhaps it would be better to tell them up front. I mean they have both lived through some strange stuff, right? No, if I tell them right off that I am Lucky, they are going to think I am some psycho and who would blame them?''
Deciding to follow Mrs. Diamond's advice, Lucky took a deep breath and walked over to the door knocking softly then turned his back to face the door. As he waited for someone to open the door, Lucky fought the urge to run away.
''Yea, how can I help you?'' Asked the crass voice from behind Lucky. Lucky smiled, letting the familiar sound of his father's voice wash over him. Slowly he turned around and faced the man who he's loved all his life.
The blood drained from Luke's face when he saw the man standing before him. Luke's eyes grew large and his mouth hung open as the world began swimming before him.
''I am hallucinating again. It will pass, it always passes. I just need to sit for a minute,'' whispered Luke, closing the door and walking over to the sofa where he sat. He leaned his head against the palm of his hand.
Above:
''Bill will you please settle down?'' Admonished Steve who was just as excited as Bill but choose to handle his elation without hopping up and down yelling. ''Look at his face, look at his face.'' ''Sorry,'' said Bill barely able to contain his glee.
Spencer's Residence:
Lucky released the breath that he didn't realize he had been holding and turned the knob to the Spencer's door. He came to a halt just inside the open door as he watched his mom walk out of the kitchen.
Laura screamed as soon as she looked up and saw Lucky standing in the open doorway, framed by the setting sun behind him. Lucky fought the urge to run to his mom and comfort her, choosing instead to remain frozen in place watching the changing expressions on first his mom and then his father's face.
''You see him too?'' Asked Luke weakly as Laura stood next to where he sat, mouth agape and eyes staring in disbelief.
''I thought I was just hallucinating again,'' continued Luke in a monotone voice. ''I opened the door and there he was, but it's not really him right? We are just both seeing things,'' reasoned Luke looking from Lucky to Laura.
Lucky, unable to watch his parent's dilemma any longer, walked swiftly into the room. ''My name is Lawrence Scott,'' said Lucky offering his hand shakily.
When his mom and dad continued to stare at him, Lucky continued. ''I take it you are Luke and Laura?'' Luke and Laura both nodded wordlessly. ''It's good to meet you. I am your nephew.''
Still Luke and Laura continued to stare at Lucky. ''I see his lips moving, but I can't hear anything Laura. How about you?'' ''What?'' Asked Laura, her eyes squinting as she continued to examine Lucky.
Lucky allowed the hand that he had been offering them to slip to his side as he realized that his parents were experiencing a form of shock.
Walking over to his mother, he took her by the shoulders and led her over to sit on the sofa next to his dad. They both continued staring at Lucky as he took a seat in the chair opposite them. Thinking quickly Lucky clapped his hands before their shocked faces frightening them both into awareness.
Trying to introduce himself again, Lucky smiled nervously before clearing his throat. ''My name is Lawrence Scott, everyone calls me Law and I am your nephew,'' repeated Lucky. ''Nephew?'' Echoed Luke, looking searchingly at Lucky.
''Yes, Mr. Spencer,'' said Lucky trying not to choke on the use of his dad's formal name. ''Your father, my grandfather apparently enjoyed having offspring, but didn't seem to care too much about sticking around to watch them grow up.
He abandoned my grandmother and my father when my dad was just a small child. Later my father changed his name to Scott, I guess to put his fatherless childhood behind him. I only recently learned that we were related and thought it would be good to get to know my family now.''
Luke and Laura took in all that Lucky told them glancing quickly at each other from time to time during his speech. Luke gave Lucky a long look before rubbing his head and leaning back into the sofa.
''Tim Spencer was never known for his deep commitments, so I am not surprised that he abandoned your father. I am actually more surprised that he had any more children, since Bobbie, that's my sister, and I were like a noose around his neck.''
''Where is your father now?'' Asked Laura distracted. She was unable to take her eyes off Lucky and was having a difficult time fighting the tears that was threatening to strangle her. ''He died five years ago,'' answered Lucky.
''I am sorry,'' said both Luke and Laura at the same time. ''How did you find out about us?'' Asked Luke looking straight into Lucky's eyes, causing Lucky to shift uncomfortable as he felt like his dad was looking straight into his soul.
''I have no family, save my son, Leo. I wanted to have a family, so I did some research and found out that my grandfather had another family. I hope you don't mind my looking you up,'' said Lucky feeling like a fraud, yet not knowing how else he was suppose to do this.
''No,'' said Luke and Laura smiling slightly. Laura pulling herself together got up and reached for Lucky who stood immediately to his feet and returned his mom's warm hug.
The feeling of being enfolded in his mom's arms again felt like sitting by the fire after being out in the cold. He wanted so badly just to spill his guts to his parents, but knew the time wasn't right to tell them who he was.
They had to get to know him first as Lawrence Scott and Lucky knew somehow, before he revealed himself to his parents he had to first find a way to fit who he was before into who he is now.
As soon as Laura released Lucky, Luke reached over and gave him a hearty hug. ''Family is always welcome in this house,'' said Luke tears in his eyes as he released Lucky and regarded him sadly.
Laura quickly reached for Luke's hand squeezing gently and giving him a bright smile. Luke returned her smile through the tears that slipped down his cheeks.
Lucky's heart tightened inside him as he watched the emotions playing across his parent's faces, knowing that he was the cause of their sadness. Seeing Lucky looking at them sadly, Luke cleared his throat and indicated for Lucky to sit down while he and Laura sat facing him.
''Law, we really are happy to meet you and we look forward to getting to know you. Please don't be put off by our crazy behavior before. It's just that you look and sound exactly like our late son, Lucky. He died ten months ago.'' Finished Luke the last part of his statement coming out in a whisper.
Laura got up and retrieved a picture from the mantle bringing over and handing it to Lucky. ''That's our son Lucky and as you can see the resemblance is extraordinary. Apart from your height and built, you look exactly like him,'' said Laura her smile tinged with sadness.
''What are you like twenty? Twenty-one?'' Asked Luke. ''Twenty-one,'' said Lucky, still not completely comfortable with his new status. ''Lucky would be eighteen now and I think had he lived to see twenty-one, no actually I am certain, he would look exactly like you,'' said Luke.
Lucky proceeded to tell his mom and dad about Leo and his plans to relocate to Port Charles for the immediate future. ''I look forward to meeting Leo,'' said Laura. ''He sounds like a delight.''
Slowly Luke and Laura began to relax and enjoy Lucky's visit. They were both completely enthralled by him and offered to help in anyway with his move to Port Charles.
''Law, you should know that Port Charles is a very small community and everyone knew Lucky, so don't be surprised if you are greeted with the same reception that we gave you,'' said Laura smiling warningly.
''Yea, I will try and warn as many people as I can. Unfortunately, no matter what we do, you are going to turn heads,'' said Luke. ''I will just have to get used to getting extra attention then,'' said Lucky thoroughly enjoying being with his parents.
Though he was enjoying his visit with his parents, Lucky was desperate to see Elizabeth and knew from her schedule she would be at Kelly's setting up for dinner. Promising to call and have dinner with his parents, Lucky said his goodbye.
As he walked with his dad to the door, the kitchen door burst open and Foster came bounding in, rushing over to Lucky and launching himself at him. ''Foster, hey boy, how are you?'' Said Lucky hugging the dog to him, completely unaware of the strange looks his parents were giving him.
Lucky continued to pet foster for a few more minutes before becoming aware of Luke and Laura staring at him. ''How did you know his name?'' Asked Luke looking intently at Lucky. Lucky froze for a second, but recovered quickly to point out the collar around Foster's neck.
''Right, of course,'' smiled Luke. ''Just for a second there you remind me of Lucky and foster playing like old times. ''Foster was Lucky's dog,'' explained Laura quickly, she too taken aback by the sight she had just witnessed.
Lucky straightened slowly and smiled shakily at his parents. ''Well, I guess I had better get going, but I will call you soon,'' said Lucky walking out the door.
Luke and Laura stood on the porch and watched silently as Lucky made his way down the path and into the car parked in front of their house.
''There's something about him,'' said Luke. ''I can't put my fingers on it. It's not even bad, I don't think. But there's something about him we should know that he's not telling us.'' ''You felt that too huh?'' Whispered Laura.
They both remained standing on the porch smiling as they waved to their guest as he pulled away from the curb. Each feeling lighter somehow, and both anticipating there next visit from the intriguing Law.
Once out of view of the house, Lucky released the breath he had been holding. ''Wow, that was close, man I have to watch myself in the future,'' whispered Lucky. ''That was hard, but I did it and they took it as well as can be expected under the circumstances,'' thought Lucky reflecting on his visit with his parents.
''They look so much older. My death did that,'' thought Lucky thinking of how tired his father looked and how sad his mom looked. ''Everything is going to work out for all of us,'' breathed Lucky. ''We all have another chance to love each other.''
Parking outside of Kelly's, Lucky decided to go for a walk on the docks to clear his head before going into Kelly's. ''What am I going to say to her? What if she freaks?'' Thought Lucky stopping to look out at the Port Charles River and across at Wyndermere.
Lucky ducked into the shadows when he heard the familiar voice of Helena Cassidine talking on her sell phone. ''Andreas, dear, my plans for getting Nikolas on my side are fool proof. My darling Stephan won't see this coming. Now do as I asked and get back to me immediately,'' concluded Helena clicking her phone closed.
''She's never satisfied. She's always running around trying to destroy lives,'' thought Lucky as he watched Helena from his position in the shadows. He watched as she sat regally on the bench facing Spoon Island. He had no doubt she was making plans to carry out her latest reign of destruction on her next unsuspecting victim.
Flashback, night of the fire:
Lucky came suddenly awake as he felt hands of steel cover his mouth. He struggled wildly to no avail as he felt the damp cloth being pressed against his face. Struggling against the darkness, he fought to stay conscious, knowing instinctively that he was fighting for his very life.
As the darkness engulfed him, he fought to keep his eyes opened, his hands reaching out for something, anything to use against his attacker. It was then that he saw her standing in the corner a wicked smile on her face, a steely glint in her eyes.
Lucky remembered thinking how could one person be so incredibly cruel. He thought of Elizabeth and thought this must have been how she felt when she first felt those hands of steel clasp over her mouth in the park before she was raped.
His final thought as he saw the look of pure evil on Helena's face and heard her raspy laughter, was how was he going to keep his promise to Elizabeth that they would always be together. He then succumbed to the darkness.
Port Charles Docks:
Closing his eyes, Lucky willed his physical being away and walked back out into the light. ''Helena Cassidine's days of hurting the innocent is over,'' thought Lucky sitting next to an unaware Helena.
Lucky smiled as he realized that he was truly going to enjoy haunting Helena. ''Hello Helena, guess who?'' Whispered Lucky, watching as Helena jumped up from the bench looking wildly around for the source of the voice.
''Looking for me Helena?'' ''Who is there? Show yourself,'' seethed Helena. ''I would love to show myself, Helena. But how can I when you took my body away,'' said Lucky quietly.
A look of pure horror appeared on Helena's face and she continued to look wildly around, jumping as the back of her legs encountered the bench. ''Yes, you know who this is, don't you Helena?'' Helena gasped and backed away from the bench into the railing.
''Of course, you've killed so many people, I wouldn't be surprised if you forgot some of your victims.'' ''Lucky? It can't be, you are dead.'' ''That's right Helena, I'm dead, because you killed me. You and your boy toy, but I'm baaaaackkkk,'' said Lucky thoroughly enjoying himself as Helena stood frozen in fear.
''This is just a trick, you are not really here. I won't fall for this. It's just a trick. Who is doing this? Is that you Luke? Nice try, but it takes a lot more than a voice in the wind to frighten me,'' said Helena clearly shaken.
Lucky considered all the ways he could continue to torture Helena, but his need to see Elizabeth superceded them all.
Walking over to where Helena was standing, Lucky reached over and kissed Helena's ice cold cheeks. ''See you later,'' whispered Lucky as he watched Helena's knees buckle beneath her as she slumped to the ground.
Walking noisily away, Lucky stopped and looked back at Helena's ashen face as she sat quietly supporting herself against the dock rails.
''I have only just began Helena,'' thought Lucky. ''By the time I am through you are going to confess to every crime you've ever committed and the ones you've only thought about committing.''
Shaking his head, Lucky made his way to Kelly's willing himself back to the physical as soon as he was certain no one was looking.
Above:
The small group gathered watching the drama unfolding below tried to pull themselves together and get the laughter that had rocked the group under control.
''I loved the kiss, the kiss was the best part,'' squealed Brenda as her being was rocked with another round of uncontrollable laughter.
''No, the best part was, 'I would love to show myself, but how can I when you took my body','' laughed Stone collapsing in another round of laughter.
Tears rolled down Bill's face as he tried unsuccessfully to get a word out, causing the others to laugh even harder. Mary Mae and Steve who were normally composed were also having a difficult time controlling their laughter.
''I am baaackkkk,'' whispered BJ shaking with laughter as the other erupted all over again. ''I agree with Brenda, the kiss was the absolute best,'' said Bill finally getting a few words out through his glee. ''Thank you Bill and did you hear how loud it was, man this is getting good,'' choked Brenda.
''I think we should call it 'The Haunting of Helena Cassidine,'' said Dominique finally pulling herself together. ''Shhh,'' whispered Ruby. ''He's there.''
Kelly's:
Lucky stared through the windows at Kelly's his breath catching when he saw her come out of the kitchen to take an order. An involuntary smile creased his face as he watched her ruffle the hair of a little girl sitting on her mother's lap.
''There is no one in the world more beautiful,'' thought Lucky as he devoured Elizabeth with his eyes. He took in her appearance as he noted that she was wearing her hair the way he liked it. It tumbled down her shoulders in soft waves brushing her cheeks as she moved.
He released a ragged breath as she tilted her head before tucking some hair behind her ear. Lucky's eyes moved to her lips as they inevitably do when he was watching her unobserved.
Her lips were the very first thing Lucky noticed about her, even at their first meeting right where he now stood nearly three years before. Even then he had wanted to reach out and brush them with his, but he had been too busy obsessing over another to realize what was right in front of him.
Lucky sighed deeply banishing thoughts of what should have been that first summer they met. ''No time for regrets now,'' thought Lucky. ''Destiny is staring you in the face, fate have given you time to embrace the future, forget the past and concentrate on the here and now,'' whispered Lucky taking a deep breath and opening the doors to Kelly's.
Elizabeth looked up with a prepared smile on her face at the sound of the door opening. Everyone turned at the sound of the coffee-pot crashing to the floor and a frozen Elizabeth staring wordlessly at the man standing just inside the door.
