Memories Revisited - Chapter 11

Lucky had been in front of the house all night. When morning came, he saw Daniel leave the house in his three-piece suite and Lucky knew he much be going to work. Lucky thought about going up to the house but he wanted to give it more time. A short time later the front door opened and Liz and the children came out. Lucky noticed that she was completely covered even though it was in the mid 80s and she was also wearing sunglasses. Liz helped the children get into the car and she pulled out of the driveway. Lucky started his car and followed them.

Liz pulled into the park with Lucky not far behind her. He let her get out of the car before he parked his own. Liz and the children walked over to the jungle gym and then Liz went over to the bench to watch them play. Lucky knew this was his chance to get to Liz.

Lucky walked over to the bench where Liz was sitting. As he approached her his heart pounded. He finally reached her and called out her name. "Elizabeth."

The sound of Lucky's voice shocked Liz. When she looked up and saw him looking down on her tears formed in her eyes. "Lucky what are you doing here?"

"I got your note and I had come here to take you and your children away from here."

"Lucky I already told you, you can't. I'm sorry you wasted a trip out here, but there is nothing you can do."

"Elizabeth look at me."

When Liz would not look at him, Lucky took her chin and turned her face towards him. He gently lifted her sunglasses off and he started to cry when he saw her two black eyes. "Oh Elizabeth."

Liz started to cry when Lucky looked at her. "It's nothing."

"Dammit Elizabeth, stop it with the excuses, this is NOT nothing." Lucky pulled Liz to his body and help her tight. "When the time is right I am going to get you and children away from that bastard."

Lucky continued to hold on to Liz and then let go of her when her children approached them. "Mamma who's that." Gabrielle said.

"Lucky these are my children Dylan and Gabrielle. Kids this is a very good friend of Mommy's, his name is Lucky."

The children and Lucky exchanged hellos and then the children went back to play. "There're beautiful Elizabeth."

"Thank you, there are all I left in the world."

"That's not true, you have me."

Liz bleakly smiled at Lucky and without thinking much Lucky took her face in his hands and placed a gentle kiss upon her lips. Liz kissed him back and then pulled away. "Lucky we can't not here."
