A few days later Liz was released from the hospital and she and Lucky went to the police station. The DA told Liz she did not have to attend the trial because Daniel had confessed to all the charges. Liz knew this would not be over until she saw Daniel for herself. Lucky felt like he was back in time when Liz wanted to see Tom Baker and he knew now like he knew then that this was something Liz needed to do. An officer escorted Liz to where Daniel was being held. At first Liz just stood there staring at him.
"You make me sick" Daniel looked away from Liz when she said that. "Look at me." Liz demanded. Daniel looked up her with his usual smirk. "I'm not afraid of you anymore Daniel." Daniel was still silent and Liz continued on. "I want a divorce and I want you to relinquish your rights to the children. I hope you rot in here for the rest of your miserable life."
Liz then walked away from Daniel's cell and went back to where Lucky was waiting for her. Once Liz met Lucky she wrapped her arms around his neck and held onto him. "Take me home Lucky."
Lucky smiled at Liz and kissed her on the cheek. They left the police station and went back to Liz's house to pack up her children. Once at the house, Liz let the children out on the back yard so they could play and she asked the maid to pack the kid's things. Liz and Lucky went into her bedroom so she could pack her things. Liz rummaged threw her drawers only taking out what she had bought herself, she did not want anything that was from Daniel. "I guess that it." Liz said as she finished packing her bag.
"Are you okay?"
Liz looked up at Lucky, "I think I'll be fine as long as I have you."
"Well you got me….and Lauren."
"Thank you."
Lucky picked up Liz's bag and they headed for the door. Liz stopped in her tracks. "Wait I minute," Liz walked over to the dresser and removed her engagement and wedding rings. "I won't be needing these anymore." Liz dropped the rings on the dresser and went back to Lucky. She turned out the light and closed the door.
Liz and Lucky walked down stairs and Liz's maid had the children all packed. Lucky loaded all the bags into the rental car and got the kids in the back seat. He then helped Liz in the front seat and then got in the car himself. He pulled out of the driveway and headed to the airport.
The four arrived at the airport and got settled on the plane. Once the plane took off, Dylan and Gabrielle soon feel asleep and Liz and Lucky were left to talk.
Liz looked at Lucky with so much love in her eyes. "Thank you for saving me again."
"Elizabeth don't you know by now I would do anything for you."
"But you just did not save me, you saved my children."
"And I love them too, they are a part of you and that's all that matters. I will love those kids as if they were my own. Um Elizabeth are you really okay, I mean with the…..rapes and everything else?"
"I know I have a lot to sort out in my mind. I never thought I would have to go threw this again. After awhile I just stopped feeling what he was doing to me and I know it is going to take me some time to get back to where I was before I met Daniel, but I'll get there because I have you."
Lucky put his arm around Liz and held her tight. Being in Lucky's arms was the best medicine for Liz. Lucky was all she needed.
