Most of Port Charles gathered at Mt. Herbron for Audrey's funeral. Liz cleaned herself up pretty good like she always did so no would know her secret. As she stood at the front door of the church next to Daniel, many memories came back to her. She remembered that special Valentine's Day with Lucky in that church and how happy they once were, but could never be again.
Daniel stood with his arm tightly around Liz welcoming their guests, he was being all nice, but Liz knew it was just an act. Liz smiled in relief when she saw Lucky walking up with a little girl holding his hand, and his parents were right behind him.
Laura walked up to Liz. "Elizabeth, it is so nice to see you again. I'm so sorry about you grandmother." Laura went closer to Liz to hug her and once she did Liz whimpered in pain. "Are you okay Liz."
Liz looked over at Lucky and then back at Laura. She tried to answer without crying. "Yeah 'm fine, just a pulled muscle."
Lucky looked back over at Liz knowing full well she was lying. Luke made his way towards Liz and hugged her gently. "We've missed you darlin', how's life in the City of Angels?"
Liz continued to choke back her tears. "It's very nice."
Luke looked at her strangely in a non-convinced way. "Well you must be Daniel, Luke Spencer, my family and your wife go way back."
"Is that so?" Daniel said very smugly. Lucky tried to get his father attention, but it was too late. "So tell me how far do you and my wife go back?" Daniel pulled Liz tighter to him.
"Oh well she ad my son her were an item many years ago, heck I thought they would have been married. They loved each other very much."
"Um dad, that's enough" Lucky tied to stop Luke and he finally got the message.
"Well anyway, I hope you know what a terrific little woman you have there." Luke tried to make things better.
Daniel just looked over at Liz. Oh yes, I know, I show her all the time."
Luke and Laura both looked at Lucky and then went into the church. Lucky and Lauren were now standing with Liz and Daniel.
Daniel looked at Lucky right in the eye. "Well Spencer, nice of you to come, I'm sure my wife here appreciated it. Don't you honey."
Liz just nodded and then looked down to Lauren. "And who is this?"
Lucky could see the pain in her eyes, but decided to play this her way. "This is Lauren."
Liz bent down and shook the little girl's hand. "It's very nice to meet you Lauren. My son is just about your age."
Lauren looked up at her father and tugged on his hand. Lucky got down to her level so he could hear her. "Daddy, this is the lady in the picture in your desk."
Liz smiled and looked at Lucky, but then felt Daniel pull her up to her feet. Lucky looked up at Liz with fear in his eyes, but she flashed him a small smile. Lucky scooped Lauren up in his arms. "We should go inside, nice seeing you again Elizabeth, Daniel."
Lucky walked into the church and sat down with his parents. Luke then looked over at Lucky. "Care to tell us what that was all about cowboy?"
"Not now, not here."
Back at the doors Daniel and Liz continued to greet the guest. When there was break in the people Daniel spoke. "So I see your lover is still carrying pictures of you. I guess we will just have to make it clear to him that you are NOT available. His daughter is precious isn't she?
A stabbing pain went threw Liz's body as she heard Daniel's words. "Don't you touch her, leave them alone. You got what you want, they never did anything to you."
"You know ELIZABETH, you better be careful what you say or you'll be sorry."
"I'm already sorry, sorry that I ever met you."
Daniel pulled Liz away from the door and slammed her up against the wall. "Now I know you did not mean that Liz and if you know what's good for you, your children, Lucky, and his brat, the you'll shut up and be the perfect wife. Or you'll just have to pay later. Do you want me to fuck you again" Because you know I will."
Tears streamed down Liz's face and Daniel knew she got his message. He leaned down and kissed her on the cheek. He grabbed her hand and led into the church. Once they entered Lucky looked over at them and could tell Liz had just been crying, but since they WERE at a funeral no one would think any different, but he knew the truth.
