Misery Made Beautiful - Chapter 16

The next morning came and Lucky was the first to wake up. He was holding Liz from behind her as his hand rested in her flat stomach. Lucky buried his face in her hair loving the way she smelled. He pulled her body closer to his, if that was even possible. Liz stated to stir in her sleep and she then took Lucky's hand away from her stomach and brought it up to her lips and kissed it.

Liz: You're still here.

Lucky: Of course I'm here. I'm never going anywhere ever again.

Liz shifted her weight so that she was now facing Lucky. She pulled him closer to her and placed a lingering kiss on his lips. Lucky deepened the kiss as he ran his hands up and down Liz's bare back.

Jason arrived at Kelly's on his bike. He felt bad that Liz had to spend the night in the diner so he wanted to rescue her. Before he left the penthouse he took Liz's spare key to the diner with him. Jason unlocked the door and when inside. He called her name and when she did not answer, he could not understand where she was. Jason started to walk over to the counter when he noticed the clothes all over the floor. He bent down and picked up a sweater and knew instantly it was Liz's, he could smell her perfume on it. Jason looked around and noticed more clothes. He knew they were a guys clothes and then the pieces started to fit together, he knew Lucky had moved in upstairs. Jason found himself going up the stairs. When he reached Lucky's room, the door was opened a crack.

Liz ran her hands through Lucky's thick hair as his hand caressed her breast. Lucky began to place wet kisses all over Liz's neck as she buried her face into his shoulder. Liz loved the feeling of Lucky's hot mouth all over her; there was no way he could go wrong with his lips. Some thing caught Liz's eyes causing her to look over towards the door. Lucky was surprised when he felt Liz push him away.

Liz: Oh my god…..Jason.

Liz quickly sat up in bed as she looked at Jason. Lucky also sat up and lowered his head. Jason slowly backed up and walked away from the door.

Liz: Jason wait! (Jason was gone and Liz got up out of bed) Where the hell are my clothes?

Lucky: probably downstairs with mine.

Liz looked at Lucky as she remembered that they had removed their clothes when they were still in the diner before they came upstairs. Liz ran into the bathroom and found a button down shirt of Lucky's. She came out of the bathroom as she buttoned it up.

Lucky: Elizabeth where are you going?

Liz: I have to find Jason.

Lucky got up from the bed, found his boxers, and out them on. He walked over to Liz.

Lucky: You can't go after him

Liz: I have to Lucky. I have to explain to him what he walked in one was…..

Lucky: Was what? Because if you ask me, he walked in on two people who love each other making love.

Liz: (looking away from Lucky) Last night was a mistake.

Lucky: Oh no, look at me. (she looks up with tears in her eyes) I am not going to let you do this Elizabeth. I won't let you call what happened here last night a mistake. We made love; it was not some roll in the hay. We made love and it was right. We wanted each other, we missed each other, and we needed each other. I won't let you regret or degrade what happened between us.

Liz: I have to go, Just let me go Lucky.

Liz backed away from Lucky, she picked up her underwear that was on the floor, and left his room. She went downstairs hoping Jason was still there, but knowing he would not be. Liz got her clothes and went into the restroom to change. After she was done she came back out and draped Lucky's shirt along with his other clothes over a chair. Liz grabbed her coat and her purse and left the diner.

A short time later Lucky came downstairs and noticed his clothes on the chair and the empty diner. He picked up the shirt Liz was wearing and held it up to his face. He could smell Liz on his shirt and he knew no matter what she said, things were not over between them, not by far.
