Misery Made Beautiful - Chapter 6

As Lucky walked through the door, Luke and Laura looked at him then at Nikolas them at each other. Their heads going back and fourth like a ping pong ball.

Luke: I think I need to sit down.

Laura's eyes focused solely on Lucky. As Lucky looked into his mother's eyes, tears started to form in his eyes. Laura raised from the couch and slowly made her way over to Lucky. Without saying a word, Laura reached out and touched Lucky's face. Laura gasped when she felt Lucky was real.

Laura: (soft shaky voice) Lucky.

Lucky: (covers her hand with his) Yeah mom, it's me

Laura: Oh my baby.

By this time Lucky and Laura were both crying. Laura pulled Lucky into her embrace, as held on to his mother with all his strength for the first time in five years. Laura broke the tight embrace.

Laura: How is this possible? You have been gone for five years.

Before Lucky could answer, Luke stood up from the couch.

Luke: We identified your body, the records were a match.

Lucky: (walked over to his father) It wasn't my body. The fire was a set up. I didn't die.

Luke: (tears in his eyes) Are you really here cowboy? Cause I cant lose you again.

Lucky: It's me dad, and you're not going to lose me.

Father and son stood in silence and then Luke grabbed and pulled him into his arms. Nikolas and Laura were both crying as father and son reunited.

After all the tearful reunion, Lucky proceeded to tell his parents all that happened to him in the past five years. Luke could not believe he had been so blind with Fasion. After some apologies and more hugs, Lucky reconnected with his parents. Lucky told his parents he would be staying with Nikolas and Emily until he could find a place of his own again. Luke and Laura knew there was no way Lucky would come back home so Luke offered a room at Kelly's to Lucky. The upstairs was completely vacant due to the fact that Tammy and Hannah were no longer in town. Lucky was not sure if he should move to Kelly's since Liz ran the diner, but he also knew he could not stay with Nikolas and Emily forever, especially with the baby on the way. After some thought Lucky agreed to take a room at Kelly's.

Some time later Lucky left his parent's house to go for a walk and get re familiar with the place he called home, the place he missed so much.
