Some Things Never Change - Chapter 2

Sonny and Carly both stared at her like that was the last thing they had expected. But Jason didn't look all that surprised. "Do you want my help?"

Before Liz could say anything Carly said, "Liz why?"

Liz looked at Jason silently asking if he told her. He just shook his head. "If I tell you two something you have to swear to me you will not tell anyone. Not Bobbie, not Emily, even Luke." They both promised and she said. "I am a little over five months pregnant." The shock on there face was even more than when she said she was leaving town.

"Why would you leave town Liz? There are so many people here that can help you. Luke, Laura, Jason and me. Why do you want to leave?"

"Carly just-"

"No Jason it's okay. I know once I tell Gram she isn't going to want me to keep it. I can't take the chance that she'll talk me out of it. Besides everywhere I go in this town I see him. At the docks, Eli's, Kelly's, he's everywhere. I can't take that anymore. So I have to leave."

"Elizabeth what about Luke and Laura? They love you like a daughter. They will want to know about the baby." Said Sonny.

"I'll tell them when I have it. I don't want anyone besides you three knowing where I am. Jason you can't tell Emily cause then she'll tell Nikolas and I know he'll come after me."

"Elizabeth I will help you. You know that, but I want to know where you are. I want to know that you're safe."

"You'll know."

Liz went into Kelly's. They had talked for a few hours trying to figure a good place where she could go. Finally Sonny had offered her the casino on his island. She said no at first since she wanted to get a job and everything and he'd promised her that his people would take her back and forth to the mainland. He told her that his 'business' didn't touch that island. It wasn't even owned under his name so no one knew about it. He promised her that she'd be safe. So she had finally agreed. Sonny was going to take her there personally. "Hi Tammy."

"Oh hey Liz. You left real early this morning. I was up at five and you were already gone."

"Yeah. I went for a long walk. I'll see you later." Liz ran up to her room. She had picked Kelly's to live in because it was the only place that she'd never been with Lucky in. They'd never gone upstairs. She opened her door. The room looked like no one lived there. The only thing you could see was a picture of Lucky that sat on her nightstand. She took her bag out of the closet and packed up her things.

The metal door opened, and he looked up. "So you're back. Ready for a game?"

"Not quite yet. I have some news for you, Mr. Spencer. Look at this." Faison hit the button that turned the TV on. Lucky sat up quick. Liz was sitting on a bed holding a picture of him. There was a suitcase next to her. He watched as she got up and put the picture in the suitcase. After that came some clothes. Lucky had known from Faison the she had moved out of Audrey's house and into Kelly's, but where was she going now? "It seems young Elizabeth is leaving Port Charles. She just can't live there with out her beloved Lucky. It's a shame you had to die."

"Elizabeth would never leave town. Who would she go with? Where is she going?"

"Ah but you haven't played a game yet. No questions remember." Faison flipped the TV off and sat down on the chair opposite Lucky. The game lasted and hour and again he lost. "That is the fourth time this month. I'll give you one question since you tried so hard."

"Where is she going?"

"You always seem to ask the wrong questions. I don't know where. But I will. We follow her every where Lucky. So just because she is leaving doesn't mean she isn't in danger anymore. I am leaving town tonight. I'll see you soon."

Lucky picked up a book and whipped it at the closing door. That man was ten times worse then what Luke had told him. It killed him to wake up here everyday and to know that all the people he loved thought he was dead. But the thought of going home to Elizabeth kept him going. He tried thinking of new ways to escape everyday. Everyday he failed.

Liz waited on the docks for them to come. Sonny and Jason were meeting her here. She heard someone coming down the steps and turned, it was Emily, Juan, and Nikolas. "Hey Liz! What are you doing?" asked Emily.

"Oh I was just uh…"

She was saved when Jason and Carly came and pushing the carriage. "Hey Liz thanks a lot for this." Said Carly.

"For what?" asked Emily.

"Oh Jason and me figured you'd have plans with Juan so we asked Elizabeth to baby-sit."

"Oh. So I guess that means you can't go with us to eat huh Liz?" asked Juan.

"I just ate guys but thanks for asking." Liz wanted to reach out to them and hug them. Especially Emily. She hated leaving without saying goodbye. "You guys go ahead."

"Liz what's going on? You seem different. Are you okay?" asked Nikolas.

She sighed, she wished she could get through one day without someone asking her that. "I'm fine. Go ahead and enjoy your meal. I'll uh…see you guys later." They walked away with one final glance at her. "Hey Em!" Emily turned around. "I'll call you okay?"

"Are you sure you want to go through with this?" asked Carly.

"I have to. Is Sonny's guys getting my stuff?"

"It's already on the plane. Sonny should be here soon in the limo. He'll explain everything to you. We brought Michael so he could say goodbye." Jason leaned over and picked up Michael. "Michael remember this morning I told you that Elizabeth was going away? Well it's time for her to leave now. She'll be back though. Just not for a while."

Liz held Michael and gave him a hug. She was crying again. "Libet cwy?" he said.

"Yeah sweetie I am. I'll see you Michael. Take care of your mommy and daddy." She gave Michael to Carly and hugged Jason tightly. "Thank you Jason. I don't know how I would have gotten through these last five months without you."

"It was my pleasure. I'm going to call you. We'll come see you too. I was thinking and I don't really know Audrey but I know Luke. If you want I can tell them what's going on and they can explain it to her. That way they don't worry."

She nodded, "Yes I would like that."

Jason gave her another hug and said he had to go to work. Carly strapped Michael in his carriage and hugged Liz. "I'm really going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too." Said Liz.

"You call us as soon as you go into labor okay?"

"I will. I promise."

"If I know Sonny he'll have a doctor on the island at all times just for you. Here he is."

"You ready? Be sure Liz." Sonny said.

"I am." Liz took a final look at Carly and Michael and the docks then left with Sonny.
