Some Things Never Change - Chapter 6

"Of course we did. We couldn't wait to get here. We would have been here sooner but there was a storm in PC." Said Carly.

"You look great Liz." Said Sonny.

"Yeah you wouldn't have said that last night. I was a mess. I yelled at everyone." They all laughed.

"Libet!" yelled Michael from Jason's arms.

"Hi cutie. Did you miss me?"

Michael just flashed a smile at her. "Of course he did. Elizabeth are you sure you're okay?" asked Jason.

She smiled at Jason. She knew he was talking about Lucky. Her smile got sad as she looked at her baby who would never know his daddy. "He has Lucky's eyes." Was all she said.

"He?" said Carly smiling.

Liz nodded. Sonny went over and looked at the boy. "That he does. Those deep blue eyes. He's going to look just like him Liz."

She smiled and said thank you. Jason and Carly took a better look and agreed. "What's his name?" asked Jason.

"Lucas Lorenzo Spencer the third."

They all smiled at that. Sonny laughed and said, "Lets hope this little one takes after his dad and not his grandfather. We definitely don't need another Luke in this world."

"What are you going to call him Liz. We have a Lucas, Lucky, and a Luke." Asked Carly.

"You guys might think I am weird but I am going to call him Lorenzo. Lucky liked that name." She thought back to when they were filing out her application for New York. She didn't tell them the story the. She would never tell another person her middle name.

"Name, Elizabeth Imogene Webber."

Lucky had laughed, "hang on a second. How is it I never knew your middle name was Imogene?"

"You've got a problem with that Lorenzo?"

"Hey I like Lorenzo. Alright."

"You won't by the time I get finished with it if you ever call me Imogene."

"Hey Liz? You okay? You spaced out there for a second." Said Carly.

"I'm sorry. What did you say?"

"I said when they were younger, Sly and Lucky I mean. Sly used to tease Lucky by calling him Lorenzo. One time Lucky told him to do it all he wanted cause he liked the name and he was proud of it because it was his fathers."

"He told me he liked it to." Elizabeth started to cry. She hadn't wanted to. She'd promised herself she wouldn't cry. But she couldn't help it. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Said Carly giving her a hug.

"Elizabeth why don't you give the baby to Sonny so we can talk. We haven't had a talk in a while." Said Jason.

She smiled gratefully at him and handed her baby to Sonny. Carly took Michael from Jason and the four of them left the room. Jason pulled a chair over next to her and said, "Now how are you? Really."

She started balling. Jason leaned over and hugged her. He just held her until the tears stopped. "Jason it hurts so bad. Even worse now. I don't want to hurt like this anymore."

"I know you don't. Are you coming home with us? You'll be eighteen in a week."

"I'm coming home, but I'm not staying. I can't Jason. If it's okay I am going to ask Sonny if I can stay here. I'll find a job as soon as Lorenzo doesn't need me as much as he does now and I will pay you two back for everything."

"We don't want your money Elizabeth. We want you to be happy."

Later that day while Lorenzo was asleep in the crib that Sonny had delivered they all sat down to lunch. Elizabeth had something important to ask them. "I need to talk to all three of you."

"What is it Liz?" asked Sonny.

"I know that I should ask Emily and Nikolas this but I want to ask you guys. Carly I want you to be his Godmother."

Carly smiled, "Are you serious?"

Liz nodded, "yeah I am." She said than looked at the guys. "Lucky looked up to you guys and he trusted you. Jason you gave him a job with the limo's, then the bike shop, you gave him a place to live and you treated him with the respect that he wanted so badly. You didn't ask any questions or expect anything from him. Sonny you have helped me so much since all this happened, and Lucky always considered you a friend. Because I can't choose between the two of you to be the godfather, I'd like for you both to be."

They both smiled, "I'd be honored." Said Sonny.

Jason took her hand and said, "Liz I know I made this promise before about Lucky but I want you to trust me now. I will always take care of you and Lorenzo. I won't let anything happen to him or you."

She smiled, "I know."

Helena came into the room. She walked in behind the guard that was carrying an unconscious Lucky. The guard put him on the bed and put something under his nose. He slowly awakened. "You almost made it that time. But not quite. Maybe this will teach you not to try this again." She watched as the guard beat Lucky and then threw an envelope with pictures in them at him. They both left the room and locked the door.

Lucky sat up and opened the envelope. He immediately felt sick at what he saw. They were pictures of Elizabeth beaten and bloody. He threw up and screamed Helena. He had to relax. He knew she had doctored photographs before. The ones of his mother. He couldn't let her do this to him again. But they looked so real. He began to cry.

No one knew why they were there. Sonny had called and asked them to come to the apartment. They had all gone fearing something had happened to Liz. It was Luke, Laura, Lulu, Nikolas, Emily, Juan, Bobbie, and Roy who she was now seeing, Lucas, and Audrey. Sonny came downstairs and Luke said, "What the hell is going on here partner? Why did you call us all here?"

"Yeah Sonny what's going on?" asked Emily. They all turned as Jason, Carly, and Michael came into the penthouse. "Jason what's going on?"

Jason smiled at his sister and pointed towards the stairs. They all turned around and looked with surprise on their faces.
