Liz was walking down Sonny's stairs holding the baby. Audrey rushed to her and hugged her as soon as her feet hit the floor. She was careful of the baby. "I'm sorry Gram." She whispered in Audrey's ear. Then she moved away from her grandmother and walked towards Luke, Laura, and Lulu. "I'd like to introduce you to your grandson." She said and Laura started to cry.
Luke looked down at the boy and said, "Look at that, a little cowboy."
Everyone took turns looking at him. Nikolas said, "I can't believe I am an Uncle."
"What's his name Lizzie?" asked Lulu when Liz leaned down so she could see her nephew.
"Lucas Lorenzo Spencer the third. That was the first name that came to mind when I saw him."
"Oh Elizabeth. He's so beautiful. He…he looks just like Lucky when he was a baby. May I?" Laura asked.
As soon as Liz handed her the baby Nikolas, Emily, and Juan, came to her and each gave her a hug. "Why'd you leave Liz?" asked Emily.
"I couldn't stay here Em. Do you remember when you told me about your mother? How you hated going in that room that she had at your house because you always saw her? Well that's how it was for me. Everywhere I go there are memories of him. I see him everywhere. It was so much easier where I was."
"Your not staying are you Elizabeth?" asked Bobbie. Liz smiled when she saw Roy with his arm around her.
Then her face got sad again. "No. I can't." everyone looked at her. They had thought she was home to stay. "I talked to Sonny and it's okay for you all to know where I am. You can visit, and I'll visit. But I can't live here. Not without Lucky. It's so much easier on the island. Nobody knows about everything I've been through. They don't look at me and think hey, there's the girl that was raped, or hey that's the one who's boyfriend died in the fire."
"Elizabeth you can't be serious. How will you take care of him on your own?" asked Audrey
"Mrs. Hardy, Liz has plenty of help on the island. They all like her there. She'll never be without anything."
"Except the people who love her." Said Audrey. She grabbed her purse and left the penthouse.
Liz looked from the door to Lorenzo. Then she looked at Jason and Carly, Jason nodded and said, "he'll be fine go."
"You sure?"
"Go Elizabeth. There are plenty of people here to take care of him." Said Luke who was now holding the baby. After she left Luke said, "what's she plan on calling him?"
"Lorenzo." Said Jason.
They all sat in the church they had buried Lucky in. It was time to baptize the baby. Everyone was happy with her choices for godparents, though some had some concerns. Nikolas had been a little hurt at first but soon got over it when she said he'd always be Lorenzo's Uncle. The christening was beautiful. The party after was at the brownstone. Liz was in the kitchen hiding out. She didn't want to be with all those people she wanted to sit there and remember Lucky. She toyed with the ring she still kept on her finger. He'd given it to her on Christmas Eve. It was also the first time he had told her he loved her.
"Something you can look at anytime day or night, that reminds you how much you've changed my life…and how much I love you."
"You just said you love me."
"I know. You don't have to say it. I mean you don't even have to love me back. I mean you can consider this an ordinary best friends ring, um, I just thought you ought to know."
"Lucky I thought you already knew? I am in love with you, I have been all along."
"You just said you love me."
"I do. I've been wanting to tell you for a long time. I...I just didn't know how."
"Me too. I love you."
"I love you too."
"I want you to know something, so you never have to question it. There will never be another girl for me. Never."
"Do you remember when we first met, and you said your name was Lucky."
"And you said we'll see."
"Well it turns out I'm the one who's Lucky."
Liz put her head down on the table and cried. When she heard the door open she looked up. Bobbie had come into the room. Bobbie smiled sadly and walked towards her. "Oh Bobbie." She said starting to cry all over again. "He should be here. He should be the one to hold Lorenzo. He would have been such a good father."
"I know honey. I know. We all miss him Liz. He was special."
Liz stood in front of his grave. She was going back to the island today. Sonny was in the limo with Lorenzo waiting for her. "Hi. I um…I had a little boy Lucky. He's so beautiful. He looks like you. I named him after you too. I won't be by here for a while. I'm leaving town again. I can't take living here without you. I love you Lucky."
