Wanda and Clark head to Germany
WANDA'S HOUSE - Well, after much anticipation, Wanda and Clark left for Germany on Thursday. Their flight left Atlanta, but was diverted to Baltimore because of a hydraulic leak. They have arrived in Germany, and hopefully the rest of their time there will go much better.Dodo visits Grandparents
DUGWAY, UT - In an attempt to help things go smoother with the transition from Texas to Germany, Mom and Dad offered to watch Dodo for a while until Wanda and Clark got settled in Germany. He is handling the seperation very well, and is even starting pre-school tomorrow.Wendy and Tom visit Donnie at School
PITTSBURGH, PA - As an anniversary gift, Tom arranged for a trip to the University of Pittsburgh for Pitt's homecoming game. They stayed at the Parkway Center Inn, which was the same hotel that they stayed at when Tom visited Wendy while she was still in schoolThe first day there, Wendy and Tom visited with Donnie, who Wendy hadn't seen since the trip to Vietnam. They checked out Donnie's apartment and took Donnie to dinner at Max & Erma's.
The second day was filled with the Homecoming Game against Penn State, and it was a great game for Pitt fans. Although it was a shut-out, with Pitt winning 12-0, Pitt was always in danger of Penn St. coming back. Prior to the game, Wendy and Tom walked around Point State Park and observed the new construction of PNC Park, which is the new stadium for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and the new Steeler's stadium, which has yet to be named. It was a sad moment, realizing that Three River's Stadium will be torn down soon. After the game, Donnie took them to his fraternity house for a tour. Then they went to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner.
The next day they returned home, but on the way, they took a slight detour and visited Tammy at West Virginia University. She said they were glad that Pitt won, so that when WVU beats Pitt later in the season, WVU will look better. They all had lunch at the Boston Beanery and then drove around campus for a tour. It was a very nice trip filled with good memories.
