Italy

The Leaning Tower of PisaPISA & FLORENCE, ITL - On the first full day of their trip to Italy with Enjoy Tours, Mom, Dad, Tom and Wendy stopped in Pisa and Florence. Pisa was a quick stop to see the Leaning Tower and surrounding buildings. The stop in Florence was longer. They visited a leather school and saw many buildings that Wendy had learned about in a Renaissance Art class she had taken in college. She entered the Church of Santa Croce and saw Michaelangelo's tomb, and got to see the copy of Michaelangelo's "David" outside of the Academia. Pictures from Pisa and Florence can be found on page T36.

NAPLES, ITL - The second day of the tour began and ended in Naples. When the tour arrived in Naples, they visited a cameo factory. Next they went on a tour of Pompeii, which turned out to be quite interesting. They rode a train to Sorrento, where they saw how wood-inlaid products were made. From there, they took a boat to the island of Capri. After exploring the island, in the rain, they returned to Naples by boat. Pictures from day two can be found on page T37.

The ColosseumROME, ITL - The third day of the tour was spent on a walking tour of Rome. The day started at the Vatican, where they saw the Sistene Chapel and Michaelangelo's "Pieta". Then they went on to see the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the Trevi Fountain. Many sights were pointed out along the way by their excellent guide, Mary. The weather was beautiful, a perfect day for sight-seeing! For pictures of these incredible sights, go to page T38.

VENICE, ITL - The final day of the Italy tour took everyone to Venice. It started with a trip to the Murano Glass Works and then a trip to a school where they make lace. There was time for souvenier shopping, feeding pigeons in St. Mark's Square, and seeing St. Mark's Basilica and the Campanile, before going on a gondola ride. The day was rainy, but Wendy enjoyed the experience. See pictures from Venice on page T39.

Next on the agenda was a trip to Bavaria. Read about it on page T40, or jump around to read about trips to Paris, the Rhein River, or Luxembourg.
