Rules Governing WH Thoroughbred Racing
These are the rules of the WHJC, they were made in accordance to keep All Thoroughbred Racing FAIR.
Please follow them, as they were created for the sake of realism and the happiness and well-being of your horses.
General Rules
- All Racing Thoroughbreds must be 100% Thoroughbred.
- Racing Thoroughbreds WILL NOT breed until they are retired.(never to race again).
- Thoroughbreds are not allowed to breed until their 3 y/o year.
- Gestation period is 1 month.
- Mares are allowed 5 foals per year.
- Speed aging is allowed up to 3 years old.
- Speed aging is optional, you may raise your foal naturally.
- A Mare is allowed all 5 foals to be the same age.
Racing Rules
- Racing Thoroughbreds are allowed to compete at Any age,
providing they have never 1.Never bred to a Mare/ or Stallion. 2. Never Shown.
- 2 year olds Shall Not Race Until April 1st.
- 3 year olds Shall Not Race Older horses Until April 1st.
- 4 year olds (Older horses) can compete as of Jan 1st.
- The First race a TB must compete in is a MAIDEN RACE.
- A Racing TB must finish 1st-4th in order to procede into higher races.
- Allowance races are optional, but Highly recommended for conditioning
of your Racing TB.
- Maiden winners or placers Cannot jump into Grade 1 competition.
- Maiden winners or placers can go into Listed, restricted, and Gr II-III competition without competing in allowance races.
Race Holding Imformation
- Allowance/Stakes racing records Must be provided for any Raceholder who requests them.
- Black Type Races are defined As The Following.
*Graded Stakes Races
*Listed Stakes Races
*Restricted Stakes Races
*Handicaps
*Invitationals
- Black Type Status is awarded to the first 3 finishers of the race.
- Graded Stakes/Black Type Are designated as follows.
Grade 1 - Classics
Grade 2 - Semi Classics
Grade 3 - Other Top Races
* Maybe be Subsituted as Group -1,2,3 races In Europe and other parts of the
world.
- Listed Stakes Races - Races that have not recieved Graded Stakes
status, and/or have added money to the purse. (Donations, Sponsership, etc).
- Restricted Stakes Races- Races that have been restricted to certin runners as defined by the conditions of the race. (Non winners of # of races, $$$ money earned, certin sex, etc).
- Handicap Stakes Races- Races in which the weights to be carried by the
horse are adjusted by their Past Performaces for the purpose of equilizing their chances of winning. (Higher Weights for the better horses, lower weights for the lesser horses).
- Invitationals- Races in which certin horses are encouraged(invited) to compete, on the condition they are eligible by the standards set by the race.
Stakes Race Priority
Real Life races will definetly have bigger priority over WH races.
Such As ... The BC, Derby, Preakness, Belmont, Dubai, Arch, Queens Plate,Travers, Stallion Stakes, State/Track-breeder's cup races.
Next In priority will be Handicaps, invitationals, Any Memorial races, or any RL races named after people,places or horses..
Third in priority will be WH named races.. I.e.
Chocolate-Zippy Chippy Stakes,, Do What I want Stakes, YellowSubmariane Stakes.. etc
** The purpose for Stakes Priority is for EAC voting.**
one horse has 5 realistic Gr I wins,, and another have 5 grade 1 wins, but with less Priority.
The classier horse is the one that won the Real grade 1 races..
Race Holding
- Raceholders must have a webpages made for each raceday. Including (Race card, Rules, Entries, and Results).
- Race dates must be scheduled with the Event Association before it is advertised.
- Please Be Prompt with Race results, Late results will not be tolerated, and will be served with a fine of $1,000 per week. *Unless* Raceholder posts to
the newsletter the reason results will be late.
- Race Holders must include a entry form in each Racecard, Including the following.

Stable
Horses Name
Age/Gender
Sire/Dam
Race Entered in
Race Records (If needed)
Or
Name/Email/Stable/Trainer:
Horses Name/MR#/Age/Gender/Sire & Dam/Race Entered In
Race Record: In required:
- If Race Record is required (for Gr 1 Stakes Races) please
only include allowance/Stakes records for this year.
(We don't need your horses Life Racing History)
- ALL RESULTS MUST BE DONE WITH THE RANDOMIZER, or by a impartical party.
- Please post to the Newsletter when you have closed entries. You
must give people 3 days to check over their entries, and scratch horses if neccessary before you start results
- Once results are released (i.e. posted to the newsletter) they become
official. No Results can be changed, without written permission of the JC, WH-president, and WH- Vice President.
Rules For Reserving Space In Races
All spots in a raceday that are to reserved, must be payed for in advance.
Must be filled 24 hours prior/post closing entries.. If they are not filled money and position will be forfeited.
In a race where positions have been reserved, There is to be a "Also Eligible" list.. meaning these horses will be on the list will draw into the race if the positions are not filled or horses scratch out..
