ê Meetings and dates
Meetings are on the first Sunday of every month and are held in the botanic gardens in the ring of Palm trees, not too far from the main gate. We will be meeting at 10:30am at the main gates, before moving on. If the weather turns sour, there is a rotunda (underover hut thingy) right next to the ring of palms - near the kids playground, or if its completely horrid give us a call on 0414334699 for further plans.

June 2002 - We cancelled the park meet and had a small gathering at the Brisbane Medieval Fayre, at Musgrave park, South Brisbane the following weekend. A network "excursion", everyone had fun, there was lots to do and see.

May 2002 - HUGE!!! I did a guided meditation, brought heaps of food and drinks, my basket full of stuff... We had a turn out of 12... A really good day!

April 2002 - Another average month in the park, we met Gaurdmasta for the first time. Even if we did have to drag him out from behind some bushes! Not so shy now ey?

March 2002 - A small gathering this month due to many of the regulars having work and family issues. So 6 it was, this is half the usual expected amount. I showed the group how to make mini besom broaches... though I dont think anyone was game to wear them in public... Except ME that is! We talked breifly about the comming sabbat Mabon and what we were thinking of doing to celebrate it, also talked about how we felt on certain traditional paths in paganism and witchcraft. We discussed how we felt about some weird initation practices like fasting, binding, going skyclad in the presence of others and drug use. We all had a strong objection against these practices. We feel we dont need to torture ourselves for our beleifs - and if anyone trys to convince you its normal or force these practices upon you - they are full of shit, report them to the police.

Feb 2002 - It was raining but we still had a turn out of 9! We sat under the rotunda above the toilet block - also the info centre. We ate popcorn, drank homemade juice and met 3 new members. Had my basket of tricks full of books and stuff to keep ourselves amused. I also gave out candles that had runes carved into them then filled with coloured wax so that they were visable - this was this months gift. There was a large turn out of girls this month so we ended up talking about losta girl issues - poor Alec being the only boy. I would love to share the topics but - girls dont tell. :)

January 2002 - Cancelled because of the Midsummer gathering held in late december

December 2002 - This meet we had a range of new faces and lacking of some regulars! David brought along 2 female pagan friends, and we finally met Kim and a new member Tom. In total this meet we had 11! We had a pretty relaxed day today, talked and talked an talked, did tarot, did oil pastel drawings, shared haldis's pumpkin, potato, cheese and rocket bread and my home made traditional lemonade. I also did my usual thing of running after the birds - it was a bush turkey, I had to! Picked some flowers, ate some ice cream (ecoli in a cone), and lazed about in the sun. I didnt bring my basket of tricks this meet (due to a very sore neck - like hell I was going to haul that heavy thing around) so we didnt have the copious amounts of activities to keep us amused. This meet we found other ways of amusement - though it wasnt the same. And we didnt have Silveronyx (Karis) so that was a bum! Still turned out a swell day as always!

November 2002 - again, and had the privilege of meeting Ilana, Sarah(#2, a pagan friend of Alex) and Ollie (David's non-pagan friend). I rocked up half n hour late (Sorry!) and everyone had begun without me so I didn't get much time to get to know Ilana (who had to leave early). She didn't know anyone but she came along and said she would pop in next time as well! This meet we made hair wreaths out of vines, bendy branches, flowers and other tidbits I brought from my garden (and "borrowed" from the botanic gardens). They all turned out Wonderful, just like Karis's biscuits - she tried making Bannock but it was supposedly yucky (the preferred word), so she made her own recipe of biscuits with nuts and dried fruit. I brought my punch, unfortunately most of the fruit stayed in the bottle and Haldis brought a lovely cheesy herb bread thing. Haldis also gave us all our own "home dried" sachets of herbs with a ribbon and a nice little card and Karis blessed us with agates (no longer the "generic" crystal) and information on them, their corresponding Chakras and uses. Karis also managed to "palm off" a huge bag of juniper berries, a bag of small pebbles (so Hansel and Gretal can get home) and her collection of Witchcraft magazines onto me… not that I minded, I will be doing up an article on them for the "book review" page. It was a busy day and by the end of it, I was truly stuffed. My jaw was sore from talking so much when I shouldn't be talking at all, my heavy bag had bruised my shoulder and one of the plants in my wreath was giving me a chronic headache (yes, I continued to wear it!). Ahh the blessings of painkillers and a comfortable bed!

October 2002 - This months meet was pretty relaxed, we talked about heaps of crap as per usual and had a mad time! We had David join us for the first time and had in total 8 in attendance. I was really slack and brought scones, really tasty chips and juice. Karis and Haldis made wonderful cookies again! And reminded us all how crap we are in the kitchen. It was a nice hot day, a sign of the coming summer and I once again had a "half face" tan. This month everyone gained a collection of brightly coloured ribbons (in connection to the maypole) and we all had a go at making some form of daggy accessory with them. Karis made wonderful talismans for us all to randomly choose and we shared some more books. We nattered a little about the coming Beltaine and after the meet we went to jitterbug to peruse the cool stuff. All in all, a great meet again!

SEPTEMBER 2002 - At the last meeting we discussed the Spring equinox, Ostara, Herbs, Other pagans, Our interests, Talismans, Books, Upcoming events... and more! We ate Karis's tasty Rosemary cookies, shared strawberries from Haldis and tasted some of my ginger and lemongrass tea. We waffled on for hours, fed the Ibis (What sign?!?), watched a car get totalled by a falling fig tree and met Sarah for the first time, who was very friendly and a funny character! The weather was great today, blue skies and a warm sun - surely a good sign of things to come. It is great meeting other teen pagans in a friendly social group. Talking with other pagans about interests and concerning issues makes you realise how your not alone and that most feelings are mutual. Especially because you are all so friendly, funny and open! No posers, just realists. Thanks people, see you all at the next meet!

AUGUST 2002 - After a mad rush to get all of my stuff together (I've just moved) and Silveronyx being unable to come due to sickness we finally got the meeting under way! This month we had wand making and what a fun experience it was! we fumbled with ribbons, crystals and glue, stuck things together that we shouldnt have and basically made fools to have fun! Haldis baked a wonderful olive loaf with a side of cream cheese, Alec baked a sweet honey fuit loaf and I brought along some vegitarian nibbles. We laughed and chatted until it was time to go home, discussing topics like Experiences, Cooking, Parents, Authors, Tools and other concerns. We met Solitary Owl, who shared lots of jokes and added to the mayhem, cya next time Solitary! Even though today was a bit windy, it all added to a wonderful messy day!

JULY 2002 - We discussed various topics, some that come to mind were Imbolgc, Yule, Sabbats, Correspondences, Dealing with people at school and at home, the way we practice our beliefs, Tools, Books, Herbs, Cooking... just to name a few! We shared a lovely Imbolgc Ritual cake that was kindly baked by Karis. And tasted some of her interesting tea, and my sparkling apple cider. After blubbering on for a few hours we then proceeded to go and check out the herb gardens there and the Dragon Blood tree (one of two in Australia!). Afterwards those of us who could stay went any visited Jitterbug, Celtic Karma, A Perfect Potion then went to have a snack. All in all the day was exciting, we all meet some very interesting people and had a laugh.

I just wanna say to everyone that didn't go that you really should've gone. I don't wanna make you regret not coming, I just wanna try and encourage everyone to attend future meetings. If you think you'll be out of place, don't worry! Everyone who comes (including me I hope, lol) is very welcoming, friendly, funny and bright. If you think you're too beginner or too advanced for us: don't fret. There's no set standard. Remember the Magick law of Infinite Data:
"There is more in the universe than we can sense or know. Learning never stops."
I can guarantee you that coming to at least one of these meetings will teach you something (hopefully that something will not be to never come again!!).
My mum and brother are nagging me to get off now but I'll give you more inane lecturing later on!!
BB, Alec
