ê A Christian Witch? (some more rantings from Morgan)

"A Christian Witch?" I hear you scream, and yes it does sound a little contradicting but apparently they DO exist! So I am here once again to clear up some things in relation to the beliefs of a Christian Witch.

My Christian Witch Creed
by Starlight
I believe in One Deity that is Spirit. Both Father/God and Mother/Goddess.
I believe that the Holy One has walked the Earth as both
man and woman to teach us.
I believe in Jesus and it is his teachings that I follow.
I believe in the power of the Holy One to work magick.
I see the Earth not only as my home, but my family.
I see that I am a part of all that is seen and un-seen.
My God/dess has many lessons to teach me
and all of creation to teach me with.
I am here to love one another, to love my God/dess
and to live in peace with all of creation.
This is what I strive for.

A Christian Witch combines the beliefs systems of both religions to come to a comfortable in-between. They follow pagan principals, but stick to just one divine force, labeled "spirit" that has no set form, but is everything and every form in one. This form is seen as a god and a goddess; a mother, father and child. They believe in the teachings of Jesus, but do not recognise a devil. They believe in karmic law and respect nature and the world around us.

Christian Witches practice rituals, which are essentially prayers that include the use of herbs, music, crystals and tools, etc with full mental and physical involvement to add the full energy to the prayer that you are asking. These follow the same format, but call the quarters as the Christian angels or elements and refer to only one deity. And many practice forms of magick, through crystals and minerals, talismans and amulets, Herbalism, tarot and runes, etc. They recognise the energy within all objects, respect nature and see the divine workings that are constantly happening around us.

In relation to the wheel of the year and its celebrations, some follow the seasons and pagan Sabbats, some stick to the Christian versions and others choose their own mix of the two. This is the same in regards to after death, most believe in reincarnation, the pagan system of having a short break between lives where they reassess and close ends in a time and place called "Summerland". This is because of their belief in Karma, because debts would have been paid during life, there would be no need to be sentenced at death in the form of "heaven and hell".

Most Christian Witches are devoted to healing, they practice Reiki and other forms of magick for their cause. The only problem that Christian Witches confront, is that they are ostracised by both Christians and Pagans, due to the "problems" that both religions have with each other (even though we try to deny it).

There are some wonderful sites around that are worth visiting for more information, here is a short list to get you started.
