ê What is the definition of a fluff bunny?

Well, people tend to over use this word... or should I say, are too EAGER to use this word. There are many older pagan who fling this word around to anyone younger than them, who they don't think are worthy of being titled a Pagan, Wiccan or whatever. We should always keep in mind everyone has to start somewhere, even if it is on the opposite side! But, here for everyone's pleasure is the list of what actually makes up a fluff bunny.

  1. They tend to brag
Fluff bunny's have a dirty habit of reading something that they think is cool and then telling the rest of the world about it. They like telling people that they are a "witch", they like talking about "cool witchcraft" things... and try to make it out like "the craft". Which really goes against one of the main points of view - keep it to yourself, drawing attention to yourself will only cause trouble, especially if you don't fully know what your talking about.
  2. They like to look scary*
These are generally the ones who always go around in public places, in clothes they wear for show. These are probably their only set of "scary" clothes... they like to give evil looks, wear dark make up, cover themselves in huge-ass pentacles and relish at the thought of making everyone else think they are "evil". *This doesn't always count for everyone, some people feel more comfortable in black, but we all know that we need some colour in our lives to promote a healthier outlook, something to break that "DEAD" - "straight out of the coffin" look.
  3. They still label magick as "White" and "Black"
As many know, magick has no colour, but, there is the occasional fluffy out there who still insists on calling it "White magick", etc. These people haven't realised that life is balance, therefore magick is too. If they seriously were a "White *cough cough* Witch" they'd be angels cause, not a nasty thought or action would they do! They are just lying to themselves because there is no such thing!
  4. They haven't grown up
Just the past points alone would show their maturity level, but there is still the occasional adult fluffy! They still live in the land of glitter and fairy floss... a big fluffy cloud where all the fluffy's live. They still have not realised that "The Craft" was made in Hollywood, based on some Fiction Story from the land of fairy tales... they might as well admit they still believe in the tooth fairy (No pun at Fae followers) or Santa. They still think that they can just say a few words, wave a wand and a glitter swirl will answer all of their prayers - just like that.
  5. They don't do ritual
They don't realise the stuff that dribbles on before the "hocus pocus" words have some relevance, like the fact that meditation - the ability to clear the mind and focus energy must be understood and mastered before even looking at "Spells". They think that all of the magickal herbs and thingy-doo-dahs that they throw together know exactly what to do themselves! I mean, who needs to put in any energy, these things have brains! They can work it out for themselves!... mmm.. yeah right.
  6. They are surrounded by all things cheap and fake
This is where I bring in the plastic pentacle and don't get me started on that! They are quick to jump on the neo-pagan bandwagon, they buy the crappy books and anything with a hint of mystics. They're the ones keeping the frauds cashing in on a fad, rolling in the $$$.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there. although I do have to say, I don't do ritual. I am pagan but not wiccan. I have my own beliefs. - Anon.

- This is a relivant point, I understand that many people who are still in the learning process are uneasy with full rituals and at times the rituals that we read can be a little daunting, which is why it is always best to start small and work your way up - do things your own way. And yes, there are pagans out there who dont do spells, they just follow the lifestyle principals. - Morgan

Thank you for this great site, Ive just recently began being a wiccan and my sister I guess you could call her a "fluffbunny" lol is convinced I'm all black magick, she keeps telling me shes going to curse me and blah blah what can I do to make her SHUT UP - Kasey.
Well Kasey, there are always a few who are going to spoil it, and there is not a lot you can do about it. You can only try to educate her by showing her some decent books or sending her to pages that have some idea what they are going on about (I suggest the Witches Vox site). Until then just remind her that she needs to grow up and if she ever wanted to really get involved with paganism and witchy ways she would need to develop a sense of maturity about it first. - Morgan
