The
little book of dreams
by Joan Hanger
Review By Morgan Akasha
Rated 4/5 |
Do
you remember your dreams or do you suffer from dream amnesia?
It has been proven that everyone is a natural dreamer and
most dream at least 4-5 times a night. This is odd when you
think about it, because most people only remember the occasional
one or two, or maybe none at all!
But
why do we dream and what does it mean? As the book says “Dreams
are messages from yourself to yourself. Only you can interpret
the special meaning in your dreams”.
This
pocket book is filled with brief but informative pieces on
a range of areas associated with dreams that help us record
and understand our dreams better. Some off the areas covered
are history, symbolisms and suggested meanings, recording
your dreams, things to look out for, common experiences, what
effects dreams, and interesting facts, quotes, passages and
poems.
Here is a passage most of us can relate to as it is
about one of the most common dream occurrences:
“The mouth is a symbol of self image – both visually and verbally.
Dreams of losing teeth, therefore, suggest that someone or
something is diminishing your self image. It may also suggest
that you are feeling inhibited in some way.”
Joan Hanger is an expert on dream analysis and has also
written the books In Your Dreams, Wake up to Your Dreams
and The little book of erotic dreams.
Its
a nice little read when you don't have much time. For a pocket
book, I rate it 4/5
