Wow, what a book!
I'm going to go over the list of what it contains before ranting
on about it.
1. Traditions of magick
- Polytheism, pantheism, monotheism, Atheism, paganism, neo-paganism,
High and low magick, hermeticism, kabbalah.
2. Techniques of magick
- colour magick, herb magick, candle magick, crystal magick,
know magick, representational magick, symbolic magick, elemental
magick, talismans, amulets and charms, choosing your magick,
consecrating a sacred space, setting up an altar, dedicating
an altar, consecrating altar objects, casting a circle, consecrating
your tools, ending your ritual, finding your spot, nature
spirits, forming a ritual, worksheets for rituals, spells
and formulas, what is a spell?
3. Love money and job spells
4. Rituals of magick
- using colour, robes and clothing, how to dress candles,
ritual herbs - uses and applications, the elements, everyday
magick, crystals for rituals, the deities (Celtic, Egyptian,
Classical, Norse and Miscellaneous), calling on the gods,
magickal day and planetary hours, wheel of the year, major
Sabbats, the Celtic year, minor Sabbats, moon rituals.
5. Forms of magick -
candle magick (representative, common colours), oils for anointing,
knot magick (healing, higher purposes), Crystals and crystal
magick (cleansing, programming, subtle energies, healing,
astrological correspondences, making talismans and charms,
meditation), Herbs, plants and trees (magickal working, a-z,
practical uses, smudge sticks), incense (properties, ritual
bathing, blends, ritual work, auric field, significance of
colour).
6. Charms, amulets and talismans
- charms (chants), amulets (objects for use, symbolism and
correspondences, Viking runes, Ogham staves, basic rune meanings,
Ogham alphabet.), talismans (magickal alphabets, numerical
significance's, examples, archangels, elements, creation story,
designing and constructing talismans, tree of life, making,
consecrating and disposing of talismans), simple magick.
7. Conclusion - work
book (worksheets for spells and formulas, ritual record sheet),
sources, list of spells, rituals and techniques.
So you can see why I love this
book, it's a thick one! And just gets down to the necessary
things, doesn't dribble on about irrelevant crud. It is a
great correspondences book, it teaches you how to use the
correspondences and look at different styles of magick. A
good book for anyone to have on hand. It does contain spells…
which usually crawls me, but this time I will support it because
with each of the few spells that are in there, it has a complete
description and instruction along side it. And most of the
spells it contains are based on important things, like Sabbats
and learning and improving your craft. None of that stupid,
immature, crap that you find in other books. I mean who really
gives a damn about Harry, Sam or Tom… they are probably all
ugly and pains in the ass! I rate this book 5/5 !!!!
