ê Why Wiccans suck. Discussion by Morgan Akasha

http://www.whywiccanssuck.com/

Here is a site some of you may have heard about, it is a little biased and uses both facts and fiction (that they believe is fact, from unknown sources) to have a big fat whinge about why he thinks, or should I say "knows" why wiccans suck and how some of the things that people take on board into their beliefs system is "wrong" or "not the one and only path that the spirits came down and handed to him, in a big fat book of "the truth"". I agree with some points that he brings up but others he just pulls out of his ass, you can tell this man leads a very boring and lonely life to create such a big whinge about irrelevant crap. But *shrugs* you get those sort of people who brood and are only drawing negative stagnation upon themselves. Dont take much of it on board, it is mainly just him backed by a bunch of "traditional witchcraft" followers whining about how they think "the youngin's of today" arent doing it like back in the ol' days. They really need to except that we live in the modern day world - where natural progression of beliefs, etc is just the way life is, we can't stay living in the past.

Here is the post that I placed on the guestbook:

I am neither for nor against this site, though I do believe that there are many out there who really give a damn too much about others beliefs. Stop having a whinge man, its all about beliefs, and a person's belief system is personal to themself. It's what gives them motivation and helps them to find themself. I see some people out there who do make me sigh a little over the way that they base their beliefs on misconceptions, but if it works for them, who am I to judge? We all seem to forget that learning Wicca, etc takes a long time to really understand it all. And the "fluff bunnies" you talk about probably have only been learning for a short time, they'll look back in a few years and realise how mislead or naive they were in their beliefs and preaching actions but in the mean time give them a break. You don't pay out on a toddler that falls or holds onto things when it's learning to walk do you?

People need to become less stressed about whether everyone else knows "the truth" and think about the "hey, lets try and live/encourage a healthy, positive life" and "hey, I know the world isn't perfect but I can try and make the best of it whilst I'm here". If people want to classify themselves as something, they can because deep down it makes them happy. Maybe not for the best reasons, but it makes them happy. So let's not get worked up over it, ok? Iv been practicing/studying paganism for 6 years, (not that my beliefs were much different before), and developing myself around a Wiccan system during the last four, but I am by no means anywhere near finishing study, nor will I ever be because you never stop learning. Are you going to put shit on me for that? Are you going to put shit on me for not knowing "all the TRUTH!" like I'm supposed to know everything over night?

I try to make a positive impact on fellow pagans; I help other teens to learn as I learn. If everyone wasn't so bitter about the process of learning then maybe we wouldn't have so many people pretending that they know more than they do? Again, get over it and try and focus on the positive sides of life instead of sitting in negative stagnation, hanging shit on others to make you seem and feel better?
