I am not afraid to say it - I like flowers.
Flowers come in all colours, patterns and textures.
Their entire purpose often seems just to be pleasing.
Often I like to think of lighting and photographing flowers as a substitute for people - for which I am not the first.
Simple Daisy

Title: Simple Daisy
Process: 3 lights, 1.33MP - Canon Optura40

Process: 3 lights, 1.33MP - Canon Optura40

More: I like the simplisity of this picture. The slight misballences of this near perfect specimine only add for me character and an appreciation of how complex it truly is.

Red Rose - Spider's Bed

Title: Red Rose - Spider's Bed
Process: Daylight, mirror, 2MP - Canon Optura40

More: This spider was often found lying in this red rose. It was more of a home for it then anything else. At night the rose would fold up slightly and offer even more protection.

Daffodil - Eyes Focused, Mind Not

Title: Daffodil - Prettier with Age
Process: Canon Optura40 (2MP), 3 lights, multiple exposures.

More: This was an aging daffodil. Emphasis was its beautiful texture and colour. Lighting was somewhat sharp angled, but modestly diffused. This picture is the result of blending two different lighting set ups (so ultimately the subject is lit by 6 lights). Background colour is not quite black, but with a hint of purple, a colour I feel complements the potential sentimental value (of the subject and lighting), as well as to help add more emphasis to the contrast of the yellow.

Daffodil - Eyes Focused, Mind Not

Title: Daffodil - Eyes Focused, Mind Not
Process: Canon Optura40, Daylight, 2 mirrors, white backdrop

More: This picture was an experiment in overlapping two slightly different camera angles. Inspiration came from the gap between my eyes. I like it sentimentally as an experiment. I am fascinated with how the mind interprets information from the eyes.
