MORE PICS…

These are some more shots of the total front-end re-design before I strip it down for painting.

This is the detail pic of the bumper in finished form ready for painting. As you can see I only use the best galvanised sheet metal.

The workmanship is near perfect.

Like a work of art. My ‘tukang ketok’ is No.1.

Oh

The mounting points use the original chassis mounts. The attachment points on the bumper use much thicker gauge metal.

Much stronger than original. You can even dance on top of the bumper if u want.

For comparison of the old and the new. Looks similar, but it's not. The new is also much thicker. The new is 50% EVO5 and the rest is my design.

Mas Fadil has pressured me to make the EVO5 bumper into production. So if you are interested in a genuine steel bumper… contact Mas Fadil. It will come raw, primer or painted. Up 2U.

Here is a picture of the finished bonnet with the integrated grille.

Looks nice and simple yeah? Well, it certainly wasn’t simple to make. Making it look good wasn’t easy. Took a few tries. The bonnet took a long time to get right.

Now it still uses the original bonnet ‘stick’. But say bye-bye because I am getting rid off it.

I’m going to put a gas shock or strut. So the bonnet will stay up by itself.

A single shock is enuf to support the bonnet.

I love the look of it now.

Looks a bit like a ‘shinkansen’ or Japanese bullet train.

Taking off the bumper here for painting. To the right is my panel beater and the left is my painter.

When the bumper is bolted on properly, there will be only a small panel gap between the bumper and the fender.

How do you think I should combine the paint on the fender and the bonnet? I’m still not sure…

Ceper enuf now?

I think this is low as I can go, other wise I will get stuck on some of the roads in Solo here.

I will need to add shims to correct the negative camber as a result of the lowered suspension.

Next for the front will be the front mount intercooler to cool the hot air from the turbo-charged engine transplant.

I’m still waiting for the engine to arrive. So difficult to get a turbo 4D56.

This is a sneak peak at the rest of the car. As you can see here, I’m making a rear bumper that will be integrated to the over fenders at the back.

Side skirts are in the process now… still from metal…  will up date more pics soon…
