CHATEAU DE FEUILLES
A member of the Relais et Chateaux group, this hotel is the most expensive place to stay
on Praslin. The clientele is mostly French. Located on a hilltop overlooking
the ocean and most of the island, the hotel is set in a tropical garden. A flagstone
pathway bordered by palms and a sensory banquet of tropical flowers leads to the reception
rondavel that also contains seven rooms. Down a slope from reception is the pool
with bar and dining area. Beyond are four bungalows and a large suite built of the
local granite. The food is average and overpriced. The nearest beach is about
a ten minute drive by car.

CHAUVE SOURIS ISLAND LODGE
This lodge has the same owner as the VILLAGE DU PECHEUR and about the same rates.
The lodge nestled among the granite rocks of Chauve Souris island, is right
off-shore from the Village du Pecheur. Guests travel back and forth for free on the
hourly boat or wade over at low tide. Shaded by huge trees, the lodge is the perfect
spot to act the barefoot castaway, or to read (or write) a long novel. The sea is so
clear that boats seem to be floating on air, not water. A whitewashed rondavel is
built among giant boulders down at the waters edge, in such a way that the rocks protrude
into the bar area. Here, seated on the balcony, you can sip a tall cool drink, gaze
pensively toward the horizon, and be alone and at peace with yourself. The best food
on Praslin is also served here as it is catered by the kitchen of the Village du Pecheur.
