Cold Comfort

The last time the wildlife carers group held a training course on snakes, 24 people turned up. It was a good turnout but it was October last year and you’d expect a heightened awareness of snakes in spring.

Explain this, though. The Group is holding another training course on snakes in Queanbeyan on Saturday afternoon, April 29, this time with a diamond python as the star. Already 15 people have signed up, and president Nora Preston, of Kambah, expects to get close to Octobers turnout. Yes, at the end of April! Don’t snakes know that Anzac Day heralds the unofficial start of Canberras cold weather?

If you want to go you have to book on 0406 056 099, or 61611596 or email wildlife_carers_group@yahoo.com.au
