The 2001 Black Filmmakers International Film Festival this year aims to take to the mainstream, while maintaining a strong cultural presence. Following the success of various animation based films screened in the past, BFM will host an Animation seminar to reflect the growth of the animation market and to focus on the work of black animators from around the world. The seminar intends to not only arouse further interest in this medium, but to showcase the latest developments in animation equipment and to champion those who are forging distinct creative pathways with animation. The seminar intends to display the possibilities of animation, as a medium itself and within the film, art & design, music-promo, titling and special effects industries. We seek to highlight affordable production alternatives to up and coming animators and have the very best artists, producers, lecturers and commissioners at the seminar to spark debate and encourage creativity. If you are a black animator and have work which you would like to be screened as part of the forthcoming animation seminar please contact John Daniel Vanderpuije jvanderpuije@hotmail.com Zd Bar short film showcase welcomes all members and all newcomers to a short film showcase.
