in the Area
The
area has many attractions to offer people interested in the outdoors
as well as those who like shopping, live music, museums and theatre.
We are only 25 minutes from Charlottetown and the nearby Trailside
Cafe offers live music many nights throughout the summer.
Outdoor Activities
include a wide variety of water sports. Our beautiful rivers and
bays are ideal for small craft sailing, windsurfing, canoeing,
kayaking, etc. Sailing charters are also available in many areas.
Nearby beaches
are perfect for swimming and sunbathing or just a quiet walk.
For bird enthusiasts there are many types of shore birds as well
as eagles, osprey, blue herons, humming birds and others too numerous
to mention.
Fishing is
another popular activity with many places nearby to catch trout.
The Morel River, a world class Salmon destination, is just minutes
away. Deep sea fishing and tuna charters are also available in
the area.
Wild Winds
Resort is five minutes from the world class Links at Crowbush
Cove golf course. There are four other great courses within a
1/2 hour drive.
The Confederation
Trail can be accessed from this area along with many beautiful
dirt roads with overhanging trees. Hiking walking and biking are
popular activities on the trail. The trail goes through Mount
Stewart where you can get lunch or enjoy a cold beverage.
Other activities
include sight seeing by car on one of our beautiful scenic drives.
Tour historic
Province House and Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown.
Visit some of the many craft shops which sell quality Island made
crafts.
Dine on delicious
lobster and other seafood such as mussels, scallops and oysters
which are in season most of the summer.
