Volunteer Activities

Like any organization and park we need volunteers to help us in the daily routine tasks and in the not so daily routine tasks around our dog park. If you would like to help in a fund raising way or have time and/or items you would like to donate, please contact us at wildwooddogpark@yahoo.com

If you want to volunteer to help us at the Dog Park or donate money to help provide for the upkeep of the Dog Park, Volunteers are at the Dog Park on Saturdays at 10:00 AM.

Monthly volunteer meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm where we discuss upcoming Events, Volunteer & Donation Programs, and any other issues regarding the Dog Park. If you know of anyone (veternarian, animal control officer, K-9 police officer, dog trainer, etc) who would like to give a doggie related talk at one of our meetings, please contact us at wildwooddogpark@yahoo.com .

Here are daily items that can be done by anyone:

Poop Patrol - even though every dog owner is supposed to pick up the poop left by their dogs there are still many poop piles left all over the park.
Filling water buckets. Like us, dogs enjoy fresh water. Full large water buckets are heavy to lift, so we have supplied smaller buckets to be used in filling the larger buckets. The larger play areas have a faucet with a hose so the buckets can be easily filled.
Trash pickup. As my dog says to me when he spots a piece of paper on the ground "Humans can be so messy.". The humans using this park tend to be a bit messy, so if you see a stray piece of paper on the ground, please pick it up and dispose of it properly in a metal trash can.

Here are some larger projects that we need help on. Please contact us and let us know that you are working on these:

  • A supplier of tennis balls. If you have a contact with a tennis school or another place that has tennis balls, maybe they could supply the park with their dead tennis balls.

  • Supply of concrete so we can concrete under these benches so when it rains this winter, we can still use the benches. And then someone who will put the concrete in (Maybe you're the leader of a group who would like to donate time for a group project.
  • Laser printer so we can print out newsletters and bulletins

  • Donations to help host this website.
