| Thomas Jefferson's Statute for Relioious Freedom was enacted in the capitol that stood on what is now a parking lot at the corner of the intersection of Routes 60 and 360, Cary and 14th Streets. A plaque on that corner tells of the General Assembly fleeing the British from here in 1781. |
