rock climbing in 1988. First Himalaya trek (Kashmir/Zankar/Ladakh) in 1991. Started alpine
climbing in 1992. First winter icefall climbing in Southern France 1995. First Himalayan
climbing expedition in 1996. Started instruction on basic sport climbing for SAFRA/SSC in
1993. First 26 pitches alpine TD+ mixed route, Gervassutti Pillar on MONT BLANC DU TACUL,
France 1996. Certified instructor in Sport and Traditional Rock climbing for Singapore Mountaineering
Federation in 1998. South America expedition 2000 to the Andes to climb
Aconcagua 6962m. First Singapore team to climb and explore remote
mountains of the Tien Shan range in Central Asia,Kazakhstan. Deputy Leader of the First team in East Asia to attempt Everest North Ridge in 2001. First team in East Asia to break the height record of 7850m without bottled oxygen. |
Career: |
Graduated with Honours in Bachelor of Engineering from UK. He spends close to a decade working in engineering and aerospace industries for Fortune 500 companies, such as General Electric and United Technologies Company – Pratt & Whitney. Wilfred is a certified practitioner for Team Management System (TMS) and
a certified Motivational coach. He is also a certified facilitator in Safety & Management of Challenge Ropes Courses by Vertical Innovations International, Australia. Enthusiastic and confident, Wilfred also lectures on team challenges, motivation and leadership, and “The Right
Mountain for you” in life. A part from that,... always dreaming of his next harder climbing expedition!!!!
