Holes....Big, Hot, Wet Holes.

You know when you're a kid people are always saying if you dig straight down long enough, you'll end up in China? Thats a lie. First of all, the top layer of the earths crust, the one we live on, is like 10 miles thick. So it would take FOREVER just to get through the first layer. But at the same time, once you got to a certain depth you wouldnt be able to throw the dirt high enough to get it out of the hole. So the dirt would just start landing on top of you, causing you to dig ourself an early grave. This is a very cruel trick to play on little kids.

Second of all, the second layer of the earth is MAGMA. which is the stuff that turns into lava when it comes out of a volcano. This stuff is hot, really hot. What happens when you get to THAT? you cant dig through it because its not a solid. plus, youll die if you touch it or even get that close to it because its hot, really hot. However there is one solution, build the lava proof raft.

While it is impossible to DIG through the earth, you could get to the magma layer, get on ur lava proof raft and ride around the world underground to the other side. While this isnt digging to the other side, considering that thats impossible, this is close enough. Your lava proof raft will have to be made of rubber.

My final point is that telling kids you can dig through the earth to China is just a lie. Not only to mention the above points, but if you went straight through the earth, you would most likely end up in an ocean or russia. NOT China. Thus causing you to drown and die, or be shot by the former commies, and die. I was thinking though....once you get to the other side...how do you get out? thats a big hole to climb..impossible if you ask me. My point is, dont be a retard.
