In Dreams By Rachel
Of all of the time we spend sleeping each night, I wonder how much
thought we really give to the dreams we have. I realize that some
people just can't remember their dreams, but this hasn't been the case
for me lately. In fact, I have been dreaming very vidid dreams almost
every night for the past few weeks. One of my most memorable dreams in
the last couple of weeks was about some Indian Warrior from Palamar
mountain who fell asleep in his canoe and woke up in Iceland(for more
unformation on this dream, email me at rachel_w_2004@hotmail.com.
I wrote the dream down). The dream went into great detail about how he
helped the good tribe win the war and reclaim the island(very odd). I
later found out, when the Indian man moved back to America, that his
name was Samuel. Samuel Yads. Very odd dream, I assure you. Another
one of my drea,s this month was what I have intitled "freakily
stange". I was in some giant building with tons of floors. Some
weird evil dude was after me. Just last night, I had a series of
nightmeres, lasting only a few minutes each. One was about three evil
s who looked just like Roxanna, Rosilynn and Reanna, but they
were...evil. I woke myself up from that one. I really didn't want to
know the outcome, should they have captured me. There was one about
Rebecca, a guy, and some y smelling caloguen. So, on to my point.
Accourding to The Association for the Study of Dreams,
"Nightmares are very common among children and fairly common
among s. Often nightmares are caused by stress, traumatic experiences,
emotional difficulties, or medication, or illness. However, some
people have frequent nightmares that seem unrelated to their waking
lives. Recent studies suggest that these people tend to be more open,
sensitive, trusting, and emotional than average." I would say
that more than half of my dreams last night were nightmares...does
that make me sensitive, trusting or emotional? Of course, this could
all be posh, but my dreams are bugging me. I wonder if there is a way
to stop dreaming altogether...

Why do they call it the Chicken Pox? By Rebecca Three unsuspecting victims of the Willardson household have fallen into the grasps of the dreaded chicken pox! Roxanna displayed the first symptoms and was miserable for weeks. Just as Roxi's recovery was in process, Rosilynn started noticing that her own skin was breaking out into painful little pox. To make matters even worse, Reid awoke the next morning to find a face full of lovely pox. As the kids rush to find paper bags to put over their heads for the next two weeks, I have been interested to know why these small, yucky, and painful little pox earned the honor of the distinguished name of "chicken pox." At first I thought it might be that the victims look like plucked chickens. However, this seems absolutely cruel to associate afflicted people with poultry. So then I thought that maybe the victims were all "chicken," but there proved no validity in that statement because my siblings have been pretty brave through the ordeal. So I decided to research the so called "chicken pox." A few clicks and one hundred pop ups later, I finally found out that chicken pox were originally thought to look like chick peas (some sort of pea I'm guessing). Chick pea, in Latin is CICER, which somehow evolved into the chicken pox! So, both of my theories (although quite wonderful, don't you think?) were wrong. Chicken pox have nothing to do with chickens; chicken pox have everything to do with peas. |
Ruth's Update Surprisingly By Ruth, and not Rebecca
so far this month, with the passing of the mother
of a dear friend who was one of the sweetest true ladies I ever did
meet, my life has also been filled with boring things such as: Reid's
new way of washing dishes in the dishwasher (which I
had to clean up--and have since come to realize that I
am an enabler!) (augh!), Rodney's birthday-fly-monster-goo-vomiting-machine.
uh-huh. Rebecca, one question...HOW are you going to OUT-DO yourself
year after year???, spending an entire day cleaning the fish pond--only
to have Rodney over-feed the fish again, I've gone from
cutting wood for the wood-stove to turning on the air conditioner, still
making a 1/2 baked effort to continue to loose weight. birthday cakes
are hard to pass up--and cookies for family home evening--and donuts on
date night with my sweetheart! last Sunday I thought someone should have
just brought in one of those great big trampolines for my 7-8 yr. olds
in my primary class, because it probably would have been safer than them
bouncing off the walls!! in other news...Saturday, Rodney and I did a
little clean-up work outside. he disked the south 40, I pulled a few
weeds and we both took out some dead trees. the property looks a little
bit better. oh, I should mention that the dishwasher had a little
sparking-and-popping problem with Reid's new phenomenal dishwashing
technique in combination with the mouse who ate through the electrical
line!! if we hadn't been home...well, I wouldn't be able to write this
sensational breaking news item on this computer, because I'm almost sure
the house would have burned to the ground. so I suppose the Lord watches
over us all.

St. Patrick's Day By Rebecca...again. What is St. Patrick's Day anyway? As I was considering this question I found several websites that were helpful in the discovery. Besides being a holiday for the Irish that has actual meaning (didn't think of that did you?) I found that St. Patrick's Day is a great excuse for a holiday. Not only do we get to dress up like fictional little leprechauns, perform worldwide searches for four leaf clovers, and wear the color green, but we also get to dream about rainbows and, more importantly, money. Seriously, who doesn't want to sit at the end of the rainbow on a pot of gold, holding a four leaf clover, wearing green tights, and eating lots of dyed food? It's a great holiday, that St. Paddy's Day! |
Personal Achievements of the month |
|
Ryan got his driver's permit, so watch out world! He is currently considering a lifeguard position at PointXCamp this summer and is taking steps to become certified. He has also created some dirt jumps. To view his jumps, *click here*. |
Rachel was able to attend the Redlands temple this month, and she considers this to be the best thing that she has done for the month. I am personally grateful for her contribution to the family page! It gets tiring writing sarcasm for this news page! |
Reid learned something about dishwashers and soap! I'm not sure if he filled the detergent cup to the top because he didn't scrub the dishes before he put them in, or if maybe the curiosity of what would happen was just too great. In any case, the kitchen was filled with bubbles as Reid's experiment went through each cycle. Not only did mother end up cleaning the mess, but the overflow created electric problems and started sparking the next night. I think he's going to go conservative on dishwashing detergent from now on. |
Roxanna. What more can you say? Roxi was the proud spreader of the chicken pox in the Willardson household this month! While Roxi's case was very mild, the other victims have had a much worse experience. |
Check out Ruth's Update for her news! |
Rebecca has been VERY busy avoiding creepy boys, getting good grades, keeping up this site, and somehow staying sane. |
Rodney celebrated his 48th birthday this month and got a stake calling. Rebecca gave him this lovely goo-fly for his birthday. By the expression on his face you can see that he just loves it. |
|
Reanna has been busy this month doing her school work and is still recovering from being sick. She has also kept herself busy practicing the piano. |
Rosi survived the chicken pox epidemic! Although the poor child is still covered with the things, she is feeling much better, but still isn't happy about the way she looks. |
