Three Sisters - Blue Mountains

Three boys having fun in the sun on top of the 2nd sister! Check out Mt Solitary in the background. The top of this sister is bloody small, so the exposure is brilliant!

Gotta love colour co-ordinated helmets...

*** The MantleShelf 30m 13
One of the true early classics of Australian climbing. An impressive effort by Roots and Massam, led without pro by Roots. Despite the choss either side, the rock you climb on is actually ok, and in the corner its (surprisingly) very good.

Greg looking worried as I search for gear.

Greg says: I'm not watching you, I'm checking out all the cute tourists over at the Echo Point lookout
The brilliant airy traverse to the mantle.
The first 3000 people must have wondered whether this shelf would rip off...
Lovely climbing up the corner in a VERY exposed position! Step onto the L or R face to negotiate the topout, and don't forget to take a pen to sign the visitors book on top!
Gratuitous spragging up the corner

And here's the view of the mighty Echo Crack from the 2nd sister. A mere 190m high . . .

Echo Crack...hard man teritory!
