Pretty much the last major lump of rock on the North Side of the Valley at the downstream end.
A view of Elephant Rock from Highway 140 at the base of Cookie Cliff. The low frontal pillar has some awesome splitter cracks up it, whil those 'tiny' top tiers are in fact sport crags! Killer Pillar is one of the routes up there.
At the top of Knob Hill you get this great view down the lower valley. Elephant Rock on the left, Merced River in the middle with Highway 140 beside it, Cookie Cliff is the low lump of rock, and 'Above the Cookie' is the major right hand cliff, home to the well-known route Separate Reality (5.12a), and with the 120 tunneling through the top of it.
A view from the West end of the 120 tunnel above the Cookie Cliff. Visible crags are Elephant Rock, This and That Cliff, Elephant's Graveyard, and Reed's Pinnacle, with El Capitan's top section, and Half Dome at top centre needing no introduction.
