Picket
Fences (cont'd...)

Opinion
I
like television shows that make me think, and Picket Fences is
certainly one of them. This is because the show tackles controversial
issues as well as formulates some complex situations that might possibly
happen in our world today, and more often than not, after watching an
episode of the show, I'm compelled to pose and reflect on what I have
seen. For example, after watching the show on the consequences of a judge's
decision to force desegregation in a public school, I was compelled to
think about racial segregation and even racial discrimination. On another
occasion, after watching an episode on cows giving birth to human calves,
I thought about the consequences of genetics (and technology as a whole)
and reflected on the sanctity of human life. Sure, there are instances
when the situations presented in the show go too far; nevertheless, all
the dilemmas that the characters of Picket Fences face encourage
me to probe my feelings on different subjects as well as to reflect on
my beliefs and principles.
Links
My
aim in creating this part of my bin is to give you an introduction to
-- and hopefully get you interested in -- Picket Fences. Should
you want more information about the show, I suggest that you visit the
following sites.
- Picket Fences
Homepage - A Picket Fences page that features the usual photos,
sounds and episode guides.
- The Ultimate
Picket Fences Homepage - A must visit site for the loyal Picket
Fences fan. Aside from the usual show trivia and cast list, this
site features lost episodes of and alternate endings to the show as
well as a support group for those who still can't accept that the show
has been cancelled.
Announcements
As
some of you already now, CBS decided to cancel Picket Fences. Anyway,
I know that reruns of the show are being aired in some television stations
so I encourage you to watch them. Believe me, you'll enjoy viewing them!
By
the way, I would like to correspond
with fellow Picket Fences fans.
