I want to put together some compilation zines. These are basically just zines surrounding one specific topic (usually), with entries from several different people.
If you would like to submit to any of these zines, please fill out this form. As of right now, there is no deadline for any of these.
Abortions Zine:
This is basically going to be a zine about (drum roll, please) abortions. How they've affected you, why you "like"/"don't like" them, etc. None of that "because the Bible says so" shit,* please. Articles, poetry, art, anything.
Kurt Cobain Zine:
This zine is going to be about Kurt Cobain. How he's affected you emotionally, rumors about him/Nirvana/Courtney Love/Frances Bean/etc., and really ANYthing about him. Poetry, art, articles, even journal entries about him. And if you have any pictures of him you'd like to contribute, that'd be great too.
Boys Really Super Suck Zine:
This is going to be a zine about how boys can be so sexist, and how they really put grrrls down all the time. I'm also going to have a little section about how even girls can be the sexist ones, and can judge girls' abilities. Poetry, art, articles, your own story, anything.
Poetry Zine:
I want people to send me their poetry, poetry they've found from other places (giving the other person credit, of course), and lyrics. The poetry can be totally different genres: sad, happy, funny, angry, riot grrrl, whatever. Send send send!!!
Sexual Preference, etc. Zine:
How being homosexual, bisexual, transgender or knowing someone with a sexual preference other than hetero has affected you. Your opinions on it, but like above: no Bible bullfeces.* As always, anything: poetry, articles, your own thing...But please, you guys, no close-mindedness on this. Homosexuality is like, white vs. black all over again in a new form. Let's not make this a whole other issue.
Anyone that contributes gets a copy of the zine/zines they contributed to free.
I could care less about grammar and stuff like that, just to let you know. And I'm sure I won't have to do this, but if there are some contributions that I see really don't fit into the comp., or it's just too, umm, negative (wrong word, but you understand), I'm not going to put it in.
Also, if you have any ideas for titles of any of these comps, let me know!
*Please excuse me if I'm pissing some devout Christians off, but using the Bible as an excuse for close-mindedness has always pissed me off, so I'm not going to let it interfere with open-mindedness's creation.
