Griot's supplies very good instructions with their paint. Here are my
comments on what things I did that were not exactly as they stated to do.
#1) I did have some small areas where some oil had spilled on my bare
floor. I cleaned them with lacquer thinner as the instructions say,
but then i just washed them with soap. I did not use TSP cleaner.
#2) I did the etching myself, even though the instructions say its a two
person job.
#3) 1 gallon of muriatic acid was enough for my 18 X 22 garage.
#4) During etching i wore sneakers, not rubber boots.
#5) I did not use a high pressure washer after etching. I waited a day
for the floor to dry and then brushed it with a broom & leaf blower.
#6) 4 gallons of paint was enough for my garage. If i was careful i
could probably have done the second coat in 1 gallon, instead of 2.
#7) I didnt use a power stirrer for the paint. I mixed it by hand for 3
minutes.
#8) I am not sure what kind of roller i used, it was just a normal roller
for house walls.
I was very hesitant about doing this, but it looks great and is very easy
to keep clean!
