- ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The next meeting of the Association is the AGM, on Thursday 16 June at 6.45pm in the Lettsom TA Hall, Vestry Road. We need at least 15 people to be a quorum, so we can elect a new committee for next year. We pay a carers allowance, and light refreshments will be served.
- DAY TRIP TO MARGATE
We have booked two 49 seater coaches for Saturday 6 August to go to Margate, leaving Wilson Road at 8.30am and returning at 6.00pm. The cost of the trip will be £2 per adult and £1 per child. Tickets cn be purchased at the AGM.
- SKIPS
We have organised two skips from Saturday 28 May - Monday 30 May. They will be sited in the usual places on Grace's and Maude Road. Remember to make sure everything is placed inside the skip and not on the ground around the outside. ABUSE IT AND LOSE IT
- Recycling reminders - Most residents should have received a leaflet from Southwark Council regarding recycling services. It now includes plastic bottles which can be placed in your blue box, together with glass bottles and tin cans. Recycling garden waste can be done with a Home Composting Kit, £10 for a compost bin, collection bucket with lid for kitchen waste and a composting guide. To order send a cheque for £10 made payable to Elephant Jobs along with your name, address and phone number to: CRISP, Unit 7-9, Brandon Street, London SE17 1NA Let the council know if you are unable to collect your kit or need them to deliver it to you. Tel. 020 7252 7709. Alternatively there is a garden waste collection every fortnight, the next one is Thursday 26 May. Garden waste can only be collected in bags provided by the council, and available from the Town Hall and collection centres across the borough.
- Need a computer or looking for a low cost printer ? Contact OFFERS/Ex-IT scheme on 020 7703 5222. The warehouse is based in Sumner Road, and you will find a wide range of good quality, refurbished computers, faxes, scanners, printers, photocopiers and more at very low prices. They also collect old hardware for recycling. Telephone first to arrange a visit.
- We will be judging a garden competition at the end of August. There will be first, second and third prizes in four classes: Best Flower Garden, Best Childrens Garden, Best Container (window boxes, hanging baskets or pots) and Best Vegetable Garden.
- After the success of the two shopping trips to France, last year, the committee is planning to organise another trip this year, lookout for further announcements.

- MAIL DELIVERY
Many residents have remarked on the poor postal service over the last 6 months. The committee have written to Royal Mail expressing our concerns. If you have any evidence which could support or complaints and aid our campaign for an improvement in the service please let the secretary, Mandy Henry, 24a Wilson Road, know.
- LUCAS GARDENS DOG AREA
There continues to be a problem with the so called 'Dog-free area' in Lucas gardens. The fenced off area at the back and top of the park which includes the children's play area, and where the picnic tables we funded are situated is meant to be a no go area for dogs. Some dog owners seem to think the notice means it is the area in which their dogs can run free. This is not the case and we are chasing Southwark Council to improve the signs so there is no misunderstanding and ask the Community Wardens to partol in Lucas Gardens and enforce the rules.
- MOBILE TELEPHONE MASTS
We have been asked by Cllr Ian Wingfield to help support a campaign to stop masts for mobile phones from being erected on the Camberwell Art College.
- MARINA HOUSE
We have written to Harriet Harman to complain about the way the decision to introduce a heroin injection service at Marina House was taken with out consulting the local community. We await her reply with interest.
