What if I don't have a guinea pig?
- That's good. If you don't own a
cavy, you can find out all about them BEFORE you purchase one. It's
actually a good idea to find out about the different breeds, varieties,
and quality of a cavy before you buy one.

Is a show quality cavy expensive?
- No, not at all. Most show quality
cavies run about $20, the same as you'd pay in a pet store for a pet
quality cavy.

I already own a guinea pig, do I have to get another one?
- No, you can participate in the project
with what you have. If you want to show you cavy you may choose
to get another one.

What if I want to learn about Cavies but
don't want to show them?
- It is not necessary to show your cavy to
be a 4-H Cavy Project.

What if I don't want to breed my cavy?
- It is not necessary to breed your cavy to be in a 4-H Cavy Project.

- Contact your County 4-H Office.

What if there isn't a 4-H Cavy Project in the Community Club I want to
join?
- You may join any 4-H Cavy Project in your county without changing
Community Clubs. You can even start your own Cavy Project.
