Marvin graduated from Galax High School. He served in the Army during the Korean War 1953-1955. After the war he worked as a diesel engine mechanic for Greyhound Bus Lines in the Washington D.C. area and attended business college on the GI Bill. The family moved to the Winston-Salem area of NC where he worked for McLean Trucking Company untill retiring. Marvin joined the Navy reserves as a Seebee about 1965 and retired as a CM1 2-Mar-1993. Marvin and Betty live in NC.

Betty graduated from Galax High School and attened banking school. She has worked in all areas of banks. Marvin was in some of her highschool classes along with a lot of other Winesett boys and girls.

Marvin and Betty's sole child is Marvin Alan (10-Aug-1958) who lives with his family in Hickory, NC.
