For those who think that Cebu City is a sex tourism destination, it will be a disappointment. It is true, Cebu City was one of the rest and relax destinations of the American GI during the peak days of the Vietnam War. This created an extensive nightlife. After the war, however, this changed gradually. For a while American, European and Australian tourists tried to keep up this image, but in time Asian tourists took over. Cebu's Nightlife adjusted to that.
How safe is it for a foreigner to go around Cebu City at night? Actually there is no safety problem at all in Cebu. Criminality is much, much lower than in Manila or some other parts of the country. The Cebu police corps is quiet and often invisible, but is known in the country for its efficiency. Big time criminality is virtually non-existent.

One can still go home for dinner before going out again. For at 8:00 PM, there is still hardly anyone in the bars except for the out-of towners.
It is best to arrive around 11:00 PM, especially on weekends.
Some bars are concentrated in one location, so if one intends to go bar hopping, you need to have a car (or take a cab).

A round pool, a dart game or chess or a deck of cards. The showband to entertain the diners. Sexy Fridays located at Banilad, Cebu City Attire: Very casual. Guys can go in casual shirts, denims. Place is not huge at all, in fact, it's pretty small that you might want to hop tables when dining. Business talks is not what they are there for. The pipe-in music and a cool ambiance. Padi's Point located at Gaisano Coutry Mall, Banilad Road Crowd: People who enjoy band music and drinking. Mr. A located at Busay Hills A fantastic view of the City lights. A choice of an open air or inside the dining area. Enjoy an ample menu with a bar list. Perfect for group gatherings and some romantic night for moon or candlelight dinner. Café Royale located at Lahug, Cebu City A place to hang-out… to eat a little, drink a little and meet, talk or have some business prospects. Crowd: Twenty something to forty something. Mostly male who welcome the faces of pretty females. Pitstop located in the middle of the Reclamation Area and lit up like a solitary diner amidst an industrial landscape. Franky's Sports Bar at the Philippine Dream located in Mactan It may be a small joint but it is well-interiored with giant projectio screen TV and sport memorabilia on display. Nothing cutesy here but it serves trendy drinks and shooters. Great place for drinks especially if you're doing business in Mactan Export Processing Zone (call it convenience.) |
