Forever Friend
Sometimes in life, you find a special friend; Someone who changes your life by being a part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop; Someone who makes you to believe that there is really good in this world. Someone who convinces you that there is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down, and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, and the sad times, and the confused times. If you turn and walk away your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be a-okay. And when you find such a friend, you'll feel happy and complete, because you need not worry. You have a forever friend for life and forever has no end

Touch By Heart
To touch the heart of someone dear -
though it might sometimes cause a tear
to fall - or rest upon a cheek -
Should be something all should seek.
For often - hearts not touched at all -
start hardening and shrinking small.
And then the time - it takes to grow
A loving heart - is very slow.
For hearts expand, as those who care -
Extend their love and let us share
a moment, space or special phrase
that eases pain on dreary days -
Or simply - starts our lips to smile
and brightens time for just a while.
The ways and kinds and means of sharing -
it seems to me - Are based on caring.
And though we're often worlds apart -
You still can touch my very heart.
You make me smile or shed a tear.
And I'll remember year to year -
Just how your 'touching' helped me grow -
And I just thought I'd tell you so.

I Cann't
--By Laughing Water
If I could
I would give you a universe
whose star-jewelled blackness
was filled with the dance
of creation and destruction
I would give you a world
of creatures uncounted
each with its wild ways
in an endlessly intricate
web of aliveness
I would give you a body
to play in this
elegantly evolved over millions of years
with a capacity for unspeakable pleasures
the power to heal and replicate itself
(allowing for improvements)
and pain to warn of its abuse
I would give you sunshine
and fire and ice and stones
and snow and rain and rainbows
and sunsets and full moons and eclipses
I would give you mountains and streams and rivers
and oceans and meadows and caves and deserts
and the ability to see and feel and taste and hear and smell all these things
I would give you a brain
far more wonderous than anything man-made
a creation capable of creation
I would give you the power to speak
and cry and sing and listen
and a heart able to melt hearts
the gift of giving
I would give you friends
in a variety of colors and interests and beliefs and dispositions
and I would give you relatives
with every number of legs
I would give you all these things
I would
but I can't give you
what you already have
(Sept.1999)

A
Sunken Ship
To you and the heavy waves of Baltimore harbor
--By Frank Chen
Morning fog is tenderly kissing the sleeping sea
Steam whistle is waking up those in snoring still
Dawn, as a piece of regainded memory,
is circling around the masts by the window
The harbor of Baltimore
I'm a sunken ship in your arms
Sound of bells murmurs the splendor old time
Ocean wave is crying for romance lost
The past, as a piece of cloud missing its way,
is floating up above the noise of crowd
The harbor of Baltimore
I'm a sunken ship in your arms
Setting sun has frozen those promises made before
Lights on fishing boats are chasing dreams for tomorrow
Dusk is, as tired as the eyes of sunset, falling little, a little,
down beyond the brilliant seashore
The harbor of Baltimore,
I'm the sunken ship in your arms
(June 1997)

Remember
One Day I Told You
--By Oliver Yuan
Remember one day I told you
Life is like a bus on the road
People come from different way
The fate made us know
Lots of people get on
And lots of people will go
Everybody has his stop
But we are going to the terrminal
The way may be long
The way may be cold
The way may be dangerous
But we are going to the terminal
We shall never stop
As far as "I love you"
If you dead on the way
I'll hide the love in my soul
Still go, still go...
There I'll meet you
(In Jan.1986)

Until
Black Hair Become Snow
--By Oliver Yuan
Never know how many times waiting for you
Never know how many nights missing you
Never know how many gifts want to send to you
Never know how many songs sang for you
Never know how much crazy I feel
Never know how much I love you
Until black hair become snow
until deep river become hill
You are still my true love
You are still my sweet girl
(In 1987)
