Development
Battlecruiser: The Jupiter Mission is currently only a beta version of what will be an awesome finished product.
Over the course of the next 7 years, the development team plan to add the following features:
- Built-in OS so that Battlecruiser: The Jupiter Mission can be truly multi-platform
(Cray Y-MP8D, SV-1, T3E ; Vax 11/750 ; Commodore 64, Amiga ; ZX Spectrum (Kempston Joystick module
required) ; Cyber 60 ; AlphaNode Beowulf Cluster ; Macintosh ][e, Lisa ; Convex Exemplar ; Thinking Machines
CM-5 ; Symbolics LISP Machine ; Atex PDP-11 Cluster (Stress relief for newspaper publishers); Dragon 32 ;
Atari ST ; Radio Shack TRS-80 ; ACER Pica ; Fujitsu GS8000 Mainframe (requires Japanese Kanji patch) )
- Brand new multiplayer engine. No matter what system you play on, you can plug in to our massive on-line
universe and play against billions and billions of opponents
- A neural net so advanced that the industry will class Battlecruiser: The Jupiter Mission as the
world's second true artificial intelligence (after Battlecruiser: 3000 AD)
- State-of-the-art physics engine. We plan to capture physical realism down to the quantum level (to
be distributed on 36 CD-ROMs).
- The world's first self-modifying engine. Battlecruiser: The Jupiter Mission will eventually
be able to write its own updates so the gamer can stay on the bleeding edge of gaming technology
indefinitely
- A lightning fast 3D engine that actually works. Like the forthcoming Battlecruiser: Millennium, we
currently only have simulated 3D graphics
- Advanced voice-recognition capabilities so that gamers can blow things up by simply shouting at them
- We have many many more things planned, but they shall remain shadowy trade secrets for now
