The Eau Claire Public Library is a great place for homeschoolers, with books, videos, magazines, books on cassette, paintings you can check out and even a few filmstrips. 

1. They'll end up at the kitchen table anyway. Don't buy expensive desks or set up an at-home school room.
2. It's ok to say, no, you can't be on a third committee and bring brownies to the kick ball tournament.
3. You can always change your mind.
4. There will always be housework; but the kids will grow up and be gone before you know it.
5. It might not be completely necessary to do 50 math problems every day.
6. Get an answering machine.
7. Occasionally it's ok to count a water-balloon fight as phy-ed and count it towards the year's 875 hours.
8. They will know we are homeschoolers by our book-lined hallways.
9. The library is your best friend.
10. The world wide web is your second best friend.
