1. Obtain form PI-1206 from the Department of Public Instruction, fill it out, and return it to them by October 15. If you are taking children out of school during the school year, file this as soon as possible. Make sure you understand the key points of Wisconsin homeschool law.

 

2. Consider the different approaches to homeschooling and chose one.

 

3. Select materials from catalogs and websites.

 

4. Now that you've ordered stuff, figure out where you will put it.

 

5. Set up record-keeping, a rough schedule and at least some general lesson plans.

 

6. Join a support group.

 

7. Become acquainted with other homeschool-related organizations, their materials and their conferences.
