      • Work hard - pray like me (spiritual) - Leadership.
    3. Leadership should be in a hand of a few, ministry should be in hands of many people

      • Equip, train, empower.
    4. Leadership takes responsibility in any area of a task

      • Pay the price of Leadership.
      • Ultimate responsibility for the organization.
      • Maturity process.

    7. Leadership can be taught

      • Leader is born? (Yes/No)
      • Illustration: England tourist, "No, only baby."
    8. Great leaders are great communicators of vision

      • John F. Kennedy: A man on moon at the end of this decade.

      • Educator: simple to complicated, Communicator: complicated to simple.

      • 4 ways to get to the top of a mountain:
        • You have to get up to go up.
        • You have to grow up (develop, mature).
          • Fail to climb Mt. Everest: "Mt. Everest, you cannot grow bigger than you are, but we can, we will be back next year and conquer you."
          • An hour a day for 5 years to know anything.
        • You have to give up to go up (not a matter of good or bad, but good or better).
        • You have to gather up to go up (Take people with you).
          • Success is not a destinatin, it's a daily process.
          • Doing daily things right compounds success.
          • Failure is a daily thing, not a destination.
          • Don't have a destination success.
          • It's not what happen to me but in me.
          • Wherever you are, there you are.

    2 novice golfer.
1 hits a ball and has made hole in one - it's so lucky.
There was an anthill with 10000 ants near the ball.
The other guy hit his ball. Miss the ball but kills 5000 ants.
    He said, "God is good."
His again. Miss the ball but kills 4998 ants. 2 ants left.
The ants said, "Want to survive - get to the ball."

    2 kinds of Leadership:

  • Leader who has followers.
  • Leader who develops leaders.

3 + 1 things to do to be a leader:

  • Know where I am going - basic level.
  • I need to take a trip (I have been there) - credibility level.
  • Take a people with you on the journey (+) - adding level.
  • Multiply leaders (X) - multiplication level.

  • Moses Ex 18.17-27 He changed:

  • The way of thinking.
  • The way of working.

    do --> get.
old problem with new solution = better people.
I was right but it's not feel comfortable.

  • 7 things to change as Moses did:

    1. Become a man of prayer - feed, lead, intercede.
    2. Committing yourself to be a communicator (the most difficult - 20).
    3. Communicate the vision to the people (20).
    4. Develop a plan (to tell them the work they must do - 20).
      • Formula of plan (Plan Ahead) 1975 by John C. Maxwell:
        • Predict the court of active.
        • Lay out your goal.
        • Adjust your priority.

        • Allow time for acceptance.
        • Head into action.
        • Expect problem.
        • Always point to your success.

      • Select and train leaders (Select out all able men - 21 - Talent illustration).
        • Water find the lower level.
        • 5 things to find a leader:
          1. How much influence do they have?
          2. What's your spiritual gift? - Put to the right place.

            • Sanguine - like to have fun.
            • Malancholic - do just right.

    5. What's the key of their life? - Use it if it's permitted.
      • Motivate but not manipulate.
      • Questions to find it out:
        • What do you sing about? Makes you happy?
        • What do you cry about? Makes you sad?
        • What do you dream about? Would you be and would you do?
    6. Who influences you? - Who leads you?
    7. Release people to do ministry (Judge at all time).
      • Replaceable --> placeable.
      • Push other down --> Oneself down.
      • Those closest to me will raise me. The greatest asset is people.
    8. He continually let them reign with him.

    How to equip people:

    1. Take people in service.
    2. Hand authority over.
    3. Train candidate.
    4. Send candidate.

If you want to do this one thing, you will be able to equip all people.
    Are you ready?
    Lost content.
    Never do ministry alone.
In Indonesia: Take someone with you.

    Steps to equip people:

    1. I do it.
    2. I do it and you are with me.
    3. You do it and I am with you.
    4. You do it.
    5. You do it and someone with you.

Some people underestimate event rather than process.

    Quotes by John C. Maxwell

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.

A leader who develops people, ADDS - a leader who develops leaders, MULTIPLIES!

Leadership - it takes one to know one, show one, and grow one.

Attitude will make or break a leader.

Successful leaders have the courage to take action while others hesitate.

Leaders impress others when leaders succeed; leaders impact others when followers succeed.

The first step to leadership is servanthood.

Leadership development is a life-time journey - not a brief trip.
