About Witchcraft

In 1983 while watching TV, I started watching the Westminster Dog Show and the new Group, The Herding Group. At the time, I owned a nice German Shepherd, Gretchen. I noticed this beautiful dog and I could not take my eyes off of him. His name was CH Corsairs Beaujangles. He was awesome, never putting a paw down wrong. He ended up winning the Group. I was planning on getting another Shepherd, but I was intrigued by the beauty of the Belgian Tervuren.

I started doing research on the breed and the temperament was similar to the German Shepherd. I looked in the classified ads in the Dog World Magazine. There in the back of the magazine was a breeder in Columbus, OH (only 2 hours away) that had a female for sale. I told my husband we are only going to look. We had never seen one up close before.

On the way home, with Tusha, I said to my husband, "I thought we were only going to look?"

She was a whirling tornado and she ruled the house with an iron paw. I have a strong personality and so did Tusha. It was a battle of wills sometimes, but it was never boring.

In 1984, Tusha got her CD and CH on the same weekend.

In 1985, she had a beautiful litter of 5 puppies and I experienced dog ownership in a whole new light. After Tusha got back into shape, we hit the show trail.

I had a great time and did not even realize that I was honing my show skills for the next great adventure.

The reason for my kennel name "Witchcraft"?  Well, Tusha was born on Halloween and sometimes I thought she was part devil...*S*

In July, 1987, I was blessed with the most special of dogs -- my Shiloh. He was a wonderful puppy that I started training and showing at the tender age of 2 months. He never failed to place in Puppy Group at the 6 sanctioned matches that I showed him at. From there it was on to the real thing......His second time in the ring at 6 months, he beat a Group Placing bitch special and was pulled in the Group.

He was a joy to show and was a ham in the ring. I was in heaven. We finished under 2 years of age and it was not long after that we started placing in Group. We were also select at the National Specialty.

He picked up his CD in 3 straight shows with a 2nd place at the San Antonico National with a 196 - then 194 1/2 and a 195 1/2.

He was my protector and friend. I truly felt honored and blessed to have him in my life. We traveled all over the place and he was always ready for more.

In 2001, I was referred to Ingrid Friedenson who was having a litter with the bloodlines I was fond of and on August 18, 2001, Waldenmark's Chocolate Chip, aka "Chip" entered my life.

The saga continues.......
