In order to gain a more thorough understanding of the novel Night and what the author Elie Wiesel experienced in the concentration camps, you will explore topics related to the Holocaust. Links to websites have been provided for each topic--feel free to explore any additional sites you may discover to further your comprehension. You will use your daily writing journals to reflect on any thought or feeling related to each topic. The journal entries will be shared in class, so please come to class prepared to share your responses. The reflections will be due one week from the start of the assignment. After completing the novel, you will write a 3-5 page reflective essay that discusses the theme of man's inhumanity to man. You can use ideas from the journal entries to help form your reflective essay--they are a wonderful tool for brainstorming and prewriting.
