The Guild of Renunicates has its origins in the merge of the priestresses of Avarra and the sisterhood of the sword. Also known as the Free Amazons, the members of this guild are only women. Only bound by the oath, these women have chosen an alternative life of less restrictions in the patriach world of Darkover. Some live their lives as a well-educated healer, some as a brave warrior or explorer. But all of them refused the protection of their families and respect only the rules of their guild.
The Main Rules
No women who seeks help from the guild with sincerity shall appeal in vain.
Woman asking for shelter will be hosted for time immidiate danger. After that they will be asked to either take the oath as a Reunicate or leave again.
Every Renunicate has to take the oath to be regarded as a mother, sister and daughter.
To assure she knows the life she chooses, each adept has to keep a housebound time befor swearing.
Each Renunicate has to learn to behave in a honorable way due to rules of the sisterhood, to defend herself with and without a knife, and to avoid the fight if possible.
Women brought up in the guild will have to live one year outside the guildhouse to assure they know the alternative.
Women who unfit in behaviour can be expelled from the guild with the consent of three Elders of the guild.
Women posing as a Renunicate or take their profit of the security of the guild, can be forced to take the oath and spend their housbound time or, on the other hand the will be slayed and their remains will be left to the wild beasts.
