Instructors will find the home sites for many
of the journalism organizations that journalism adviser's join for
rating purposes, competition information, conferences, award winners,
etc. Many of these sites also offer additional resources for
classroom management, lesson plans, how-to guides, and much more for
yearbook/newspaper courses.
Columbia
Scholastic Press Association - The
Columbia Scholastic Press Association offers a national competition
for both student newspapers and yearbooks. The organization offers
publication ratings as well as individual competitions for stuents.
The Association offers evaluations of publications, plans and
conducts four conferences and workshops, and publishes a bi-monthly

Journalism
Education Association - The
Journalism Education Association, Inc. offers the only independent
national scholastic journalism organization for teachers and
advisers. The site acts as a source of information for national
conventions/workshops for instructors as well as information on how
to become a certified journalism educator and a master journalism
educator. It also offers helpful links to other journalism

National
Scholastic Press Association - The
National Scholastic Press Association's main goal is to help students
and teachers improve their newspapers and yearbooks. The Association
offers contests, conventions/workshops, online forums and
sourcebooks. Look to the site for award winners, NSPA publications,

& Scroll - Quill and Scroll
International Honorary Society for High School Journalists encourages
and recognizes individual achievements in journalism and scholastic
publication. The home site gives annual deadline schedules for

TAJE
- The Texas Association of Journalism Educaters
gives journalism instructors a voice at the Texas Education Agency,
keeps members up-to-date on issues concerning scholastic journalism,
offers scholarships to students of members, and holds annual
conventions for members. The site offers current news about
journalism educators and administrators, an online resource center, a
